DEVOTION 187: “Virtue: The Secret to Divine Healing” coming out of Deu. 34
Faith in the finished work of Christ is the foundation.
Virtue is one of the attributes of God that goes on the foundation to make us a full stature of Jesus Christ.
In divine healing, virtue is required. Virtue is the strength and power of God.
2 Peter 1:3 “According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:”
Virtue is the power of the Holy Spirit in the individual who is one with God. The individual who has become the habitation of God just as Jesus Christ was the habitation of God.
Hebrews 10:5 “Wherefore when he cometh into the world, he saith, Sacrifice and offering thou wouldest not, but a body hast thou prepared me:”
The plan of God has always been to make man His habitation - God dwelling in man (Adam) in the Garden. God dwelling in Christ, and God dwelling is us today in the form of the Holy Spirit.
To receive virtue, we must first partake in His Divine nature.
2 Peter 1:4 “Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.”
We partake in His Divine nature by identifying with Him in His life, death, burial, resurrection, ascension, reigning with Him at the right hand of the Father, and now dwelling in us in the form of the Holy Spirit. We simply become one with Him. His nature has become our nature. In His death, we have died to our corrupt nature, and in His resurrection, we have been raised in His Divine nature.
Now, virtue is accessible because we have His Divine nature.
2 Peter 1:5 “And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge;”
Now faith is the hand that turns the key. The key is the Word. Remember Jesus Christ is the Door and the key must match the Door. The key and the Door matches in Word. That means every Word must be believed. No private interpretations, no dogma, no creed. It must be the whole Word.
As partakers of His Divine nature, faith in the key opens the Door of virtue. Virtue only comes out of the Door.
Luke 6:19 “And the whole multitude sought to touch him: for there went virtue out of him, and healed them all.”
The strength and power of the Holy Spirit to heal. This strength and power will flow through the believer who is one with God. Who like Christ has become a habitation of God.
Luke 8:46 “And Jesus said, Somebody hath touched me: for I perceive that virtue is gone out of me.”
Strength (virtue) came out of Christ because the woman believed (faith) in the Word.
Matthew 9:20-21 “And, behold, a woman, which was diseased with an issue of blood twelve years, came behind him, and touched the hem of his garment: [21] For she said within herself, If I may but touch his garment, I shall be whole.”
She had no doubt. She believed the Word. Remember Jesus Christ is the Word.
As partakers of His Divine nature, if we line up with the Word, our hand of faith will turn the key of the Word which matches the Door. This is the Door through which virtue flows.
God dwelled in Moses by His Word. In his death, God will move out of Moses into Joshua by His Word.
God will now be reflecting Himself in Joshua.
Let’s read:
Deuteronomy 34:1-4 “And Moses went up from the plains of Moab unto the mountain of Nebo, to the top of Pisgah, that is over against Jericho. And the LORD shewed him all the land of Gilead, unto Dan, [2] And all Naphtali, and the land of Ephraim, and Manasseh, and all the land of Judah, unto the utmost sea, [3] And the south, and the plain of the valley of Jericho, the city of palm trees, unto Zoar. [4] And the LORD said unto him, This is the land which I sware unto Abraham, unto Isaac, and unto Jacob, saying, I will give it unto thy seed: I have caused thee to see it with thine eyes, but thou shalt not go over thither.”
The Promise is in the Word.
God dwelled in Abraham by His Word. God moved on to dwell in Isaac when Abraham died, and then to Jacob when Isaac died.
Genesis 27:28-29 “Therefore God give thee of the dew of heaven, and the fatness of the earth, and plenty of corn and wine: [29] Let people serve thee, and nations bow down to thee: be lord over thy brethren, and let thy mother's sons bow down to thee: cursed be every one that curseth thee, and blessed be he that blesseth thee.”
Isaac in himself has no blessing. It was God in Isaac blessing Jacob.
God dwelled in Abraham, then Isaac, then Jacob, then Israel. God was in Joseph when he interpreted the dreams of Egypt. Joseph saw visions as a child. God reflecting Himself in the man Joseph.
God does not live in temples made with hands.
Acts 7:48-49 « Howbeit the most High dwelleth not in temples made with hands; as saith the prophet, [49] Heaven is my throne, and earth is my footstool: what house will ye build me? saith the Lord: or what is the place of my rest? »
God was in Christ on earth. God has now come to dwell in His church (believers) In the form of the Holy Spirit beginning on the Day of Pentecost.
Acts 2:3-4 “And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. [4] And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.”
God coming to dwell in men and women just as He was dwelling in Adam.
God reflecting Himself in people.
When the Word is in you then the Promise to Abraham is in you. When we depart from the Word, we depart from the Promise to Abraham.
We continue our reading:
Deuteronomy 34:5-9 “So Moses the servant of the LORD died there in the land of Moab, according to the word of the LORD. [6] And he buried him in a valley in the land of Moab, over against Beth–peor: but no man knoweth of his sepulchre unto this day. [7] And Moses was an hundred and twenty years old when he died: his eye was not dim, nor his natural force abated. [8] And the children of Israel wept for Moses in the plains of Moab thirty days: so the days of weeping and mourning for Moses were ended. [9] And Joshua the son of Nun was full of the spirit of wisdom; for Moses had laid his hands upon him: and the children of Israel hearkened unto him, and did as the LORD commanded Moses.”
Moses laid his hands on Joshua. Moses in himself had nothing to impart unto Joshua but it was God now coming to dwell in Joshua.
He dwells in man by His Word. We become one with Him in word. Then He reflects Himself in us.
We conclude our reading:
Deuteronomy 34:10-12 “And there arose not a prophet since in Israel like unto Moses, whom the LORD knew face to face, [11] In all the signs and the wonders, which the LORD sent him to do in the land of Egypt to Pharaoh, and to all his servants, and to all his land, [12] And in all that mighty hand, and in all the great terror which Moses shewed in the sight of all Israel.”
It was not Moses doing signs and wonders but God in Moses doing signs and wonders.
Let the Word of God bring you into oneness with God. BELIEVE, and confess Christ the Word as we’ve revealed Him from the First Adam. Healing Virtue flows, only in Christ.
