“God Is Our Guide Even Beyond Death”

Reference: Psalms Chapter 48

The greatest enemy of faith is hope.

Hope says God will do it, Faith says God has already done it.

God is our guide today and forever. He is not going to be our guide just beyond death but our guide today. For the believer will only transition from one dimension to another, and God will remain the same.

John 11:25-26 “Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: [26] And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?”

Hope is looking to die, faith has already died and resurrected with Christ.

The Psalmist says “ God is our guide even unto death.”

Faith says God is our guide even beyond death.

Let’s read:

Psalm 48:1-10 “Great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised in the city of our God, in the mountain of his holiness. [2] Beautiful for situation, the joy of the whole earth, is mount Zion, on the sides of the north, the city of the great King. [3] God is known in her palaces for a refuge. [4] For, lo, the kings were assembled, they passed by together. [5] They saw it, and so they marvelled; they were troubled, and hasted away. [6] Fear took hold upon them there, and pain, as of a woman in travail. [7] Thou breakest the ships of Tarshish with an east wind. [8] As we have heard, so have we seen in the city of the LORD of hosts, in the city of our God: God will establish it for ever. Selah. [9] We have thought of thy lovingkindness, O God, in the midst of thy temple. [10] According to thy name, O God, so is thy praise unto the ends of the earth: thy right hand is full of righteousness.”

Jesus Christ is the Right Hand of God.

That Right Hand is not only full of righteousness. He is Righteousness.

He is Lovingkindness.
He is the Name of God.
He is Lord, and God.

We continue our reading:

Psalm 48:11 “Let mount Zion rejoice, let the daughters of Judah be glad, because of thy judgments.”

He is the judge of Heaven and Earth.

John 5:22-23 “For the Father judgeth no man, but hath committed all judgment unto the Son: [23] That all men should honour the Son, even as they honour the Father. He that honoureth not the Son honoureth not the Father which hath sent him.”

All nations, tongues, and people shall be judged by Jesus Christ. None is exempted.

We conclude our reading:

Psalm 48:12-14 “Walk about Zion, and go round about her: tell the towers thereof. [13] Mark ye well her bulwarks, consider her palaces; that ye may tell it to the generation following. [14] For this God is our God for ever and ever: he will be our guide even unto death.”

Jesus Christ is our guide even beyond death.

Let not hope but faith lead you. BELIEVE and confess Christ the Word as we’ve revealed Him from the First Adam. Faith sees beyond hope, in Christ!
