“The Deep Calls Unto the  Deep”

Reference: Psalms Chapter 42

It’s a thirst for God. A thirst that nothing can satisfy.

The thirst of man is quenched only by the Blood.

It is only blood that contains the things needed to quench the thirst of man.

Blood contains oxygen, platelets, red cells, white cells, fibrin, collagen, and many other things that provides life to the body.

Leviticus 17:11 “For the life of the flesh is in the blood: and I have given it to you upon the altar to make an atonement for your souls: for it is the blood that maketh an atonement for the soul.”

When a person is wounded, platelets will provide clotting so they do not bleed to death. Loosing too much blood leads to death. Blood is life.

Fibrin will put the clots made by the platelets together in a form of a net. Oxygen is carried in the red cells, bringing healing to the wound. Macrophages or wound protectors are carried by the white cells, cleansing the wound. B and T cells are carried by the white cells defending the wound from any infection or attack by an enemy virus or bacteria. Collagen, a protein carried outside the cells, provides tissue for new formation called scar tissue.

The life in the Blood of Jesus Christ is called the Holy Spirit.

Luke 1:35 “And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God.”

The Blood that conceived Jesus Christ was the Holy Spirit. He was the Life in the Blood of Christ from the very beginning of His physical formation.

When His blood vessels were broken by His piercing  on the Cross, the Life (Holy Spirit) in His Blood went to work, brought healing to every wounded soul, and bound every enemy for destruction.

The Life in the Blood of Christ quenches every thirst of men and women.

The heart of David pants for Life.

Let’s read:

Psalm 42:1-2 “As the hart panteth after the water brooks, so panteth my soul after thee, O God. [2] My soul thirsteth for God, for the living God: when shall I come and appear before God?”

The wounded deer has to find the water brooks or bleed to death. If the wounded deer can get to the water, it will drink to restore blood pressure, else it bleeds to death.
The deer is normally attacked by an enemy lion. The enemy Serpent that attacked Eve in the garden caused wounds in every child of Eve through unbelief.

Unbelief leads to sin, sin leads to diseases (wounds), disease leads to death.

It took the broken blood vessels of Christ to release the Life in His Blood to come to the believer. That is why unbelief in the Blood of Christ is the sin of death, damnation, or condemnation.

John 3:18 “He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.”

The unbeliever has no means of receiving the Life in the blood of Christ because the Life in His shed blood is only received by faith (believing).

The Life in the blood was not yet released until the Cross. That was why all the Old Testament saints had to wait in Abrahams bosom.

Luke 16:22-23 “And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham's bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried; [23] And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.”

After the Life in the broken blood vessels of Christ has been released, every wounded captive was healed from death to life, taken out of Abraham’s bosom to be with Christ.

Ephesians 4:8-10 “Wherefore he saith, When he ascended up on high, he led captivity captive, and gave gifts unto men. [9] (Now that he ascended, what is it but that he also descended first into the lower parts of the earth? [10] He that descended is the same also that ascended up far above all heavens, that he might fill all things.)”

He raised them up in His resurrection.

Matthew 27:51-53 “And, behold, the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom; and the earth did quake, and the rocks rent; [52] And the graves were opened; and many bodies of the saints which slept arose, [53] And came out of the graves after his resurrection, and went into the holy city, and appeared unto many.”

For the Life in His broken blood vessels had gone out to the believer to stop the cycle of sin, wounds, and death. That’s why unbelief in the Blood is the only thing that stops the flow of Life to a person.

We continue our reading:

Psalm 42:3-7 “My tears have been my meat day and night, while they continually say unto me, Where is thy God? [4] When I remember these things, I pour out my soul in me: for I had gone with the multitude, I went with them to the house of God, with the voice of joy and praise, with a multitude that kept holyday. [5] Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted in me? hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise him for the help of his countenance. [6] O my God, my soul is cast down within me: therefore will I remember thee from the land of Jordan, and of the Hermonites, from the hill Mizar. [7] Deep calleth unto deep at the noise of thy waterspouts: all thy waves and thy billows are gone over me.”

It will take the deep to respond to the Deep. The Blood of Jesus Christ is the Deep that responds to those who deeply thirst for God.

God responded by the shedding of the Blood of Jesus Christ. The Life in the Blood quenches every spiritual, emotional or physical thirst.

We conclude our reading:

Psalm 42:8-11 ‘Yet the LORD will command his lovingkindness in the daytime, and in the night his song shall be with me, and my prayer unto the God of my life. [9] I will say unto God my rock, Why hast thou forgotten me? why go I mourning because of the oppression of the enemy? [10] As with a sword in my bones, mine enemies reproach me; while they say daily unto me, Where is thy God? [11] Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted within me? hope thou in God: for I shall yet praise him, who is the health of my countenance, and my God.”

The Life in His Blood bears not just fruit of Lovingkindness but others.

Galatians 5:22-23 “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, [23] Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.”

The Life (Holy Spirit) that was sent back to the church when Jesus Christ went to sit at the right hand of the Father.

Let the Blood be your portion. BELIEVE and confess Christ the Word as we’ve revealed Him from the First Adam. As flesh He is the Son of God. As Spirit, He is God! His Blood contains every need, in Christ!
