Devotion 484
“Save Us, Heal Us”
Reference: Psalms Chapter 6
The LordJesus Christ has already saved the world. He saved the world when He went to the Cross.
John 19:30 “When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost.”
The work of redemption is finished. This is what Job was waiting for.
Job 19:25-26 “For I know that my redeemer liveth, and that he shall stand at the latter day upon the earth: [26] And though after my skin worms destroy this body, yet in my flesh shall I see God.”
The Redeemer of the world has finished the work of redemption. He is not going to do any new thing. The world only has to accept the finished salvation.
God through Christ has already saved everybody in the world who would simply accept their pardon.
Similarly, the Lord has healed everyone in the world when He went to the Cross.
Isaiah 53:5 “But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.”
It is up to the individual to accept their healing which has already been purchased on the Cross.
Today, If the Lord stood next to anyone, and they cried save or heal me, the Lord will respond that He has already saved and healed the individual. It’s up to us to accept our salvation and healing.
David cries “heal and save me.”
Let’s read:
Psalm 6:1-2 “O LORD, rebuke me not in thine anger, neither chasten me in thy hot displeasure. [2] Have mercy upon me, O LORD; for I am weak: O LORD, heal me; for my bones are vexed.”
David was crying for his healing just as Job was crying for his redeemer.
Today, we cry not for a redeemer because we are already redeemed. We accept our redemption by faith in His finished work.
Likewise, we don’t have to cry for a healer because we are already healed. We just have to accept our healing by faith in His finished work.
We continue our reading:
Psalm 6:3-4 “My soul is also sore vexed: but thou, O LORD, how long? [4] Return, O LORD, deliver my soul: oh save me for thy mercies' sake.”
David had to wait until the work is finished.
Today, David is saved because Jesus Christ has paid the debt of sin, and so is any man, woman, boy, or girl who would believe in His finished work.
You are saved if you will accept it. A free gift of God.
We conclude our reading
Psalm 6:5-10 “For in death there is no remembrance of thee: in the grave who shall give thee thanks? [6] I am weary with my groaning; all the night make I my bed to swim; I water my couch with my tears. [7] Mine eye is consumed because of grief; it waxeth old because of all mine enemies. [8] Depart from me, all ye workers of iniquity; for the LORD hath heard the voice of my weeping. [9] The LORD hath heard my supplication; the LORD will receive my prayer. [10] Let all mine enemies be ashamed and sore vexed: let them return and be ashamed suddenly.”
We no longer cry for our salvation but joyfully receive our pardon.
We no longer cry for healing but joyfully receive our freedom from sickness, disease, and even death (the ultimate disease).
We no longer cry against our enemies but joyfully receive victory over the enemy (Satan).
Lord, You have saved us, and You have healed us.
Let the Word of God bring you to joyfully receive your pardon, healing, and victory over the enemy. BELIEVE and confess Christ the Redeemer as we’ve revealed Him from the First Adam. His work is finished, our work is to accept it, in Christ!
