“Imputed Righteousness, Imputed Integrity”
Reference: Psalms Chapter 26
Our integrity is as filthy rags when compared to His integrity.
Isaiah 64:6 “But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.”
We walk not in our integrity but His integrity.
We walk not in our righteousness but His righteousness.
His integrity and righteousness are imputed to us by faith.
Romans 4:11 “And he received the sign of circumcision, a seal of the righteousness of the faith which he had yet being uncircumcised: that he might be the father of all them that believe, though they be not circumcised; that righteousness might be imputed unto them also:”
In oneness with God through Christ, we died with Him and resurrected with Him.
His resurrection is our resurrection. God in us.
His faith is our faith. God in us.
His Love is our love. God in us.
His Righteousness is our righteousness. God in us.
His Integrity is our integrity. God in us.
God in us is His integrity in us.
David writes about the integrity of David.
Let’s read:
Psalm 26:1 “Judge me, O LORD; for I have walked in mine integrity: I have trusted also in the LORD; therefore I shall not slide.”
The integrity of David was not enough. Our integrity at best is as filthy rags. It must be the Integrity of God in us. This can only come by the revelation of our oneness with God through His finished work of the Cross; Jesus Christ slain before the foundation of the world.
We continue our reading:
Psalm 26:2 “Examine me, O LORD, and prove me; try my reins and my heart.”
We do not want God to examine us. We want God to examine Jesus Christ the Perfect One. The One who has taken our place in all things so that we may take His place in all things.
We continue our reading:
Psalm 26:3 “For thy lovingkindness is before mine eyes: and I have walked in thy truth.”
We walk properly not in our truth but His truth, not in our lovingkindness but in His lovingkindness. This is not what we do but imputed to us by our union or oneness with Him.
We continue our reading:
Psalm 26:4-6 “I have not sat with vain persons, neither will I go in with dissemblers. [5] I have hated the congregation of evil doers; and will not sit with the wicked. [6] I will wash mine hands in innocency: so will I compass thine altar, O LORD.”
It’s by the Altar that we are perfected.
Hebrews 10:12-14 “But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God; [13] From henceforth expecting till his enemies be made his footstool. [14] For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified.”
It’s by the Altar that all the attributes of the Lamb (Jesus Christ) are imputed unto us.
We conclude our reading:
Psalm 26:7-12 “That I may publish with the voice of thanksgiving, and tell of all thy wondrous works. [8] LORD, I have loved the habitation of thy house, and the place where thine honour dwelleth. [9] Gather not my soul with sinners, nor my life with bloody men: [10] In whose hands is mischief, and their right hand is full of bribes. [11] But as for me, I will walk in mine integrity: redeem me, and be merciful unto me. [12] My foot standeth in an even place: in the congregations will I bless the LORD.”
No attribute or good report of ours will pass the examination of God. Not our kindness, love, innocence, or even faith.
Hebrews 11:38-40 “(Of whom the world was not worthy:) they wandered in deserts, and in mountains, and in dens and caves of the earth. [39] And these all, having obtained a good report through faith, received not the promise: [40] God having provided some better thing for us, that they without us should not be made perfect.”
The expectation of God is perfection because He is perfect. We are perfected only by the Blood of the Promised One. The Blood of Jesus Christ.
Let the Blood of Jesus Christ perfect us. BELIEVE and confess Christ the Word as we’ve revealed Him from the First Adam. The expectation is perfection, in Christ!
