“The Leading Of The Spirit”
Reference: Psalms Chapter 25
The Ways of the Lord must be taught.
It cannot be taught by a man or woman. It can only be taught by the teacher that God has provided.
John 14:26 “But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.”
We can open the pages of the Word of God but it takes the Teacher to reveal the Word to us.
Matthew 16:16-17 “And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God. [17] And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Bar–jona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven.”
The Teacher (HolySpirit) opens the Word to us through revelation. The revelation of the blood which Abel received but Cain didn’t.
The revelation that Jesus Christ was slain from before the foundation of the world, meaning, the blood of every lamb that was shed beginning in the Garden of Eden, and through the Day that Christ was slain on the Cross, were pointing to Jesus Christ slain before the foundation of the world.
David asks the Lord to teach him His ways.
Let’s read:
Psalm 25:1-4 “Unto thee, O LORD, do I lift up my soul. [2] O my God, I trust in thee: let me not be ashamed, let not mine enemies triumph over me. [3] Yea, let none that wait on thee be ashamed: let them be ashamed which transgress without cause. [4] Shew me thy ways, O LORD; teach me thy paths.”
The Lord shows His way by the Holy Spirit.
John 14:6 “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”
The Holy Spirit reveals to us that Jesus Christ is the way.
The Lord teaches by His Spirit.
Luke 24:25-27,31-32 “Then he said unto them, O fools, and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken: [26] Ought not Christ to have suffered these things, and to enter into his glory? [27] And beginning at Moses and all the prophets, he expounded unto them in all the scriptures the things concerning himself. [31] And their eyes were opened, and they knew him; and he vanished out of their sight. [32] And they said one to another, Did not our heart burn within us, while he talked with us by the way, and while he opened to us the scriptures?”
The Scriptures are opened to men and women today only by the Holy Spirit.
We continue our reading:
Psalm 25:5 “Lead me in thy truth, and teach me: for thou art the God of my salvation; on thee do I wait all the day.”
The child of God is the one led by the Spirit of God.
Romans 8:14 “For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.”
The child ofGod is not led by their thoughts, ideas or plans but by their heart set on the Word of God, as revealed by the Spirit of God.
We continue our reading:
Psalm 25:6-12 “Remember, O LORD, thy tender mercies and thy lovingkindnesses; for they have been ever of old. [7] Remember not the sins of my youth, nor my transgressions: according to thy mercy remember thou me for thy goodness' sake, O LORD. [8] Good and upright is the LORD: therefore will he teach sinners in the way. [9] The meek will he guide in judgment: and the meek will he teach his way. [10] All the paths of the LORD are mercy and truth unto such as keep his covenant and his testimonies. [11] For thy name's sake, O LORD, pardon mine iniquity; for it is great. [12] What man is he that feareth the LORD? him shall he teach in the way that he shall choose.”
When the Holy Spirit revealed Christ to Peter, he saw his iniquities.
Luke 5:7-9 “And they beckoned unto their partners, which were in the other ship, that they should come and help them. And they came, and filled both the ships, so that they began to sink. [8] When Simon Peter saw it, he fell down at Jesus' knees, saying, Depart from me; for I am a sinful man, O Lord. [9] For he was astonished, and all that were with him, at the draught of the fishes which they had taken:”l
When He was revealed to Thomas, he became afraid.
John 20:25-28 “The other disciples therefore said unto him, We have seen the Lord. But he said unto them, Except I shall see in his hands the print of the nails, and put my finger into the print of the nails, and thrust my hand into his side, I will not believe. [26] And after eight days again his disciples were within, and Thomas with them: then came Jesus, the doors being shut, and stood in the midst, and said, Peace be unto you. [27] Then saith he to Thomas, Reach hither thy finger, and behold my hands; and reach hither thy hand, and thrust it into my side: and be not faithless, but believing. [28] And Thomas answered and said unto him, My Lord and my God.”
The man or woman who fears the Lord is the one that the Lord had revealed Himself to Him. He does that today by His Spirit.
We conclude our reading:
Psalm 25:13-22 “His soul shall dwell at ease; and his seed shall inherit the earth. [14] The secret of the LORD is with them that fear him; and he will shew them his covenant. [15] Mine eyes are ever toward the LORD; for he shall pluck my feet out of the net. [16] Turn thee unto me, and have mercy upon me; for I am desolate and afflicted. [17] The troubles of my heart are enlarged: O bring thou me out of my distresses. [18] Look upon mine affliction and my pain; and forgive all my sins. [19] Consider mine enemies; for they are many; and they hate me with cruel hatred. [20] O keep my soul, and deliver me: let me not be ashamed; for I put my trust in thee. [21] Let integrity and uprightness preserve me; for I wait on thee. [22] Redeem Israel, O God, out of all his troubles.”
The Holy Spirit (Secret of the Lord) is with those who fear Him, the children led by the Spirit.
Be led by the Holy Spirit by faith in the Jesus Christ slain from before the foundation of the world. BELIEVE and confess Christ the Word as we’ve revealed Him from the First Adam. The Life (Holy Spirit) in the Blood shed from before the foundation of the world, is to lead us, in Christ!
