“A Green Olive Tree In God’s House”
Reference: Psalms Chapter 52
The heart of man is the soil. The Word of God is the Seed. The Seed can be watered with faith or dried up with unbelief.
John 15:1-6 “I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman. [2] Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit. [3] Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you. [4] Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me. [5] I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing. [6] If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned.”
We abide in Him by faith placed exclusively in His shed blood. The Life in His shed blood bears the fruit of the Life (Spirit).
We abide NOT, when our faith is in something else.
Our faith can be in our prayer, fasting, preaching, or even reading of His Word. As good as those are, they do not bring victory.
Victory only comes by the Life in the shed Blood. We receive this Life (Holy Spirit) by faith in the shed Blood.
If victory could come any other way, then the Blood was shed in vain.
Galatians 2:21 “I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain.”
Victory comes by the Life (Holy Spirit) lifting us up above every battle.
Romans 8:2-4 “For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death. [3] For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh: [4] That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.”
Walking after the Spirit (Holy Spirit) is the victory.
The Law of the Spirit (Holy Spirit) is NOT going to make us free but has ALREADY made us free from the Law of sin and death. This is the perpetual victory.
Then you become like the green olive tree, blossoming in the house of God.
The Psalmist writes.
Let’s read:
Psalm 52:1-7 “Why boastest thou thyself in mischief, O mighty man? the goodness of God endureth continually. [2] Thy tongue deviseth mischiefs; like a sharp razor, working deceitfully. [3] Thou lovest evil more than good; and lying rather than to speak righteousness. Selah. [4] Thou lovest all devouring words, O thou deceitful tongue. [5] God shall likewise destroy thee for ever, he shall take thee away, and pluck thee out of thy dwelling place, and root thee out of the land of the living. Selah. [6] The righteous also shall see, and fear, and shall laugh at him: [7] Lo, this is the man that made not God his strength; but trusted in the abundance of his riches, and strengthened himself in his wickedness.”
The strength of God is the Spirit of God in us. He comes by our faith in the shed blood of the Lamb.
The strength of man is no strength at all. It’s the strength of sand, which will soon fail to hold.
We continue our reading:
Psalm 52:8 “But I am like a green olive tree in the house of God: I trust in the mercy of God for ever and ever.”
Faith applied to the Word (Seed) in our hearts will bear the fruit of the Life (Holy Spirit) that comes out of the shed blood of the Lamb.
We become trees of righteousness in the house of God.
We conclude our reading:
Psalm 52:9 “I will praise thee for ever, because thou hast done it: and I will wait on thy name; for it is good before thy saints.”
We no longer need to wait for that name.
That Name is Jesus Christ.
Matthew 1:20-21 “But while he thought on these things, behold, the angel of the Lord appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the Holy Ghost. [21] And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.”
Let the Life (Holy Spirit) in the shed Blood be your strength and victory. BELIEVE and confess Christ the Word as we’ve revealed Him from the First Adam. He has already provided the victory, in Christ!
