“The Creator Taking The Place Of His Creation”

Reference: Psalms Chapter 69

Redemption will not be justified if God sent someone to redeem fallen man. If God sent a son or an angel to redeem man, God will not be justified.

For God to be justified, He had to redeem man Himself.

God became man to justifiably redeem man. This is how we know that Jesus Christ is God.

He took the position of the lowest man.

David expresses it.

Let’s read:

Psalm 69:1-3 “Save me, O God; for the waters are come in unto my soul. [2] I sink in deep mire, where there is no standing: I am come into deep waters, where the floods overflow me. [3] I am weary of my crying: my throat is dried: mine eyes fail while I wait for my God.”

The hate was palpable. He cried for a way out of this storm.

Matthew 26:37-39 “And he took with him Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, and began to be sorrowful and very heavy. [38] Then saith he unto them, My soul is exceeding sorrowful, even unto death: tarry ye here, and watch with me. [39] And he went a little further, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt.”

Justification is only possible if God-the-Man redeems His creation.

We continue our reading:

Psalm 69:4 “They that hate me without a cause are more than the hairs of mine head: they that would destroy me, being mine enemies wrongfully, are mighty: then I restored that which I took not away.”

The hate was not physical but spiritual.

1 Corinthians 2:7-8 “But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory: [8] Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.”

God ordained to be crucified to redeem man.

We continue our reading:

Psalm 69:5 “O God, thou knowest my foolishness; and my sins are not hid from thee.”

He took the position of man. He took David’s position. He took my position, and your position if you will simply believe.

We continue our reading:

Psalm 69:6-9 “Let not them that wait on thee, O Lord GOD of hosts, be ashamed for my sake: let not those that seek thee be confounded for my sake, O God of Israel. [7] Because for thy sake I have borne reproach; shame hath covered my face. [8] I am become a stranger unto my brethren, and an alien unto my mother's children. [9] For the zeal of thine house hath eaten me up; and the reproaches of them that reproached thee are fallen upon me.”

The zeal of redemption.

John 2:15-17 “And when he had made a scourge of small cords, he drove them all out of the temple, and the sheep, and the oxen; and poured out the changers' money, and overthrew the tables; [16] And said unto them that sold doves, Take these things hence; make not my Father's house an house of merchandise. [17] And his disciples remembered that it was written, The zeal of thine house hath eaten me up.”

We know today that the house of God is not a building. The house of God is men and women indwelled by the Spirit of God.
He came to restore the broken houses of God. Making the houses of God not a place of merchandise or den of thieves but a place of healing.

Matthew 21:13-14 “And said unto them, It is written, My house shall be called the house of prayer; but ye have made it a den of thieves. [14] And the blind and the lame came to him in the temple; and he healed them.”

Today, those in Christ, indwelled by the Spirit of God are the houses of Gos where the lame and blind come to receive healing, where the sinner comes to receive salvation.

We continue our reading:

Psalm 69:10-17 “When I wept, and chastened my soul with fasting, that was to my reproach. [11] I made sackcloth also my garment; and I became a proverb to them. [12] They that sit in the gate speak against me; and I was the song of the drunkards. [13] But as for me, my prayer is unto thee, O LORD, in an acceptable time: O God, in the multitude of thy mercy hear me, in the truth of thy salvation. [14] Deliver me out of the mire, and let me not sink: let me be delivered from them that hate me, and out of the deep waters. [15] Let not the waterflood overflow me, neither let the deep swallow me up, and let not the pit shut her mouth upon me. [16] Hear me, O LORD; for thy lovingkindness is good: turn unto me according to the multitude of thy tender mercies. [17] And hide not thy face from thy servant; for I am in trouble: hear me speedily.”

The Creator became a servant to hang on a tree for His creation.

What great Love, that my God should die for me.

We continue our reading:

Psalm 69:18-21 “Draw nigh unto my soul, and redeem it: deliver me because of mine enemies. [19] Thou hast known my reproach, and my shame, and my dishonour: mine adversaries are all before thee. [20] Reproach hath broken my heart; and I am full of heaviness: and I looked for some to take pity, but there was none; and for comforters, but I found none. [21] They gave me also gall for my meat; and in my thirst they gave me vinegar to drink.”

The bitterness of the Cross. Vinegar was His drink.

Matthew 27:33-35 “And when they were come unto a place called Golgotha, that is to say, a place of a skull, [34] They gave him vinegar to drink mingled with gall: and when he had tasted thereof, he would not drink. [35] And they crucified him, and parted his garments, casting lots: that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, They parted my garments among them, and upon my vesture did they cast lots.”

He drank the bitter cup of the Cross only to redeem His lost creation. It was the heart of God then and the heart of God today.

We continue our reading:

Psalm 69:22-28 “Let their table become a snare before them: and that which should have been for their welfare, let it become a trap. [23] Let their eyes be darkened, that they see not; and make their loins continually to shake. [24] Pour out thine indignation upon them, and let thy wrathful anger take hold of them. [25] Let their habitation be desolate; and let none dwell in their tents. [26] For they persecute him whom thou hast smitten; and they talk to the grief of those whom thou hast wounded. [27] Add iniquity unto their iniquity: and let them not come into thy righteousness. [28] Let them be blotted out of the book of the living, and not be written with the righteous.”

Rejecting Christ is to be blotted out of the book of the living. There is no life fora man or woman outside Jesus Christ.

John 11:25-26 “Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: [26] And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?”

Jesus Christ is the only life.

We conclude our reading:

Psalm 69:29-36 “But I am poor and sorrowful: let thy salvation, O God, set me up on high. [30] I will praise the name of God with a song, and will magnify him with thanksgiving. [31] This also shall please the LORD better than an ox or bullock that hath horns and hoofs. [32] The humble shall see this, and be glad: and your heart shall live that seek God. [33] For the LORD heareth the poor, and despiseth not his prisoners. [34] Let the heaven and earth praise him, the seas, and every thing that moveth therein. [35] For God will save Zion, and will build the cities of Judah: that they may dwell there, and have it in possession. [36] The seed also of his servants shall inherit it: and they that love his name shall dwell therein.”

The blood of oxen and bullocks could not take away a single sin but the Blood of the God-man took away the sin of the world, satisfying the demand of redemption.

Today, those who love the Name of Jesus Christ shall dwell not in the old but the New Jerusalem.

Let the Creator take your place in redemption. BELIEVE and confess Christ the Word as we’ve revealed Him the First Adam. Redemption is complete, in Christ!
