“The Upright Shall Have Dominion In The Morning”

Reference: Psalms Chapter 49

Jesus Christ is the Life and the Resurrection.

John 11:25-26 “Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: [26] And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?”

Physical death is only a deep sleep.

John 11:11-14 “These things said he: and after that he saith unto them, Our friend Lazarus sleepeth; but I go, that I may awake him out of sleep. [12] Then said his disciples, Lord, if he sleep, he shall do well. [13] Howbeit Jesus spake of his death: but they thought that he had spoken of taking of rest in sleep. [14] Then said Jesus unto them plainly, Lazarus is dead.”

Physical death is only a deep sleep because there is life after death.

Luke 16:22-26 “And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham's bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried; [23] And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom. [24] And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame. [25] But Abraham said, Son, remember that thou in thy lifetime receivedst thy good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is comforted, and thou art tormented. [26] And beside all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed: so that they which would pass from hence to you cannot; neither can they pass to us, that would come from thence.”

The Psalmist writes, the upright will have dominion over the wicked in the morning.

Let’s read:

Psalm 49:1-8 “Hear this, all ye people; give ear, all ye inhabitants of the world: [2] Both low and high, rich and poor, together. [3] My mouth shall speak of wisdom; and the meditation of my heart shall be of understanding. [4] I will incline mine ear to a parable: I will open my dark saying upon the harp. [5] Wherefore should I fear in the days of evil, when the iniquity of my heels shall compass me about? [6] They that trust in their wealth, and boast themselves in the multitude of their riches; [7] None of them can by any means redeem his brother, nor give to God a ransom for him: [8] (For the redemption of their soul is precious, and it ceaseth for ever:)”

There is only one thing that redeems a soul. That is the blood of Jesus Christ.

1 Peter 1:18-19 Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; [19] But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:”

This redemption is what guarantees the Life and the Resurrection of Christ to the Believer.

The Life in the Blood of Jesus Christ is the Holy Spirit. This Life (Holy Spirit) comes to the Believer by faith in the shed Blood of Jesus Christ.

Romans 8:2 “For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.”

Just as Christ was raised from the dead,so shall the Believer be risen from the dead by the same Holy Spirit.

Romans 8:11 “But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.”

The key is to have the Holy Spirit dwelling in you.

The Holy Spirit stands between the Believer and death just as the Pillar of Fire stood between the Israelites and the Pharaoh’s army.

We continue our reading:

Psalm 49:9-14 “That he should still live for ever, and not see corruption. [10] For he seeth that wise men die, likewise the fool and the brutish person perish, and leave their wealth to others. [11] Their inward thought is, that their houses shall continue for ever, and their dwelling places to all generations; they call their lands after their own names. [12] Nevertheless man being in honour abideth not: he is like the beasts that perish. [13] This their way is their folly: yet their posterity approve their sayings. Selah. [14] Like sheep they are laid in the grave; death shall feed on them; and the upright shall have dominion over them in the morning; and their beauty shall consume in the grave from their dwelling.”

The Upright ( Believer) shall have dominion over the Wicked (unbeliever) in the resurrection. One will resurrect in Heaven and the other in Hell.

We conclude our reading:

Psalm 49:15-20 “But God will redeem my soul from the power of the grave: for he shall receive me. Selah. [16] Be not thou afraid when one is made rich, when the glory of his house is increased; [17] For when he dieth he shall carry nothing away: his glory shall not descend after him. [18] Though while he lived he blessed his soul: and men will praise thee, when thou doest well to thyself. [19] He shall go to the generation of his fathers; they shall never see light. [20] Man that is in honour, and understandeth not, is like the beasts that perish.”

The Wicked (Unbeliever) shall never see light in the resurrection, for Jesus Christ of whom they do not believe is the Light of this life and the life after death.

Let the Light come and dwell in your heart. BELIEVE and confess Christ the Light as we’ve revealed Him from the First Adam. The Light, Life, and Resurrection, in Christ!
