“The Believer’s Position in Christ”

Reference: Psalms Chapter 7

Ephesians 1:5-7 “Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will, [6] To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved. [7] In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;”

In Christ, every enemy is defeated.

The enemy of sin is defeated
The enemy of sickness is defeated
The enemy of death is defeated

The finished work of Christ is our deliverance.

David cries for deliverance.

Let’s read:

Psalm 7:1 “O LORD my God, in thee do I put my trust: save me from all them that persecute me, and deliver me:”

Today, He has delivered us from every enemy. We do not seek deliverance but give Him praise for our victory over sin, sickness, and the grave.

We continue our reading:

Psalm 7:2-8 “Lest he tear my soul like a lion, rending it in pieces, while there is none to deliver. [3] O LORD my God, if I have done this; if there be iniquity in my hands; [4] If I have rewarded evil unto him that was at peace with me; (yea, I have delivered him that without cause is mine enemy:) [5] Let the enemy persecute my soul, and take it; yea, let him tread down my life upon the earth, and lay mine honour in the dust. Selah. [6] Arise, O LORD, in thine anger, lift up thyself because of the rage of mine enemies: and awake for me to the judgment that thou hast commanded. [7] So shall the congregation of the people compass thee about: for their sakes therefore return thou on high. [8] The LORD shall judge the people: judge me, O LORD, according to my righteousness, and according to mine integrity that is in me.”

The righteousness of David could not deliver him. The integrity of David could not deliver him.  It’s the Righteousness and Integrity of Christ in us that delivers. That’s the position of the Believer.

We continue our reading:

Psalm 7:9-10 “Oh let the wickedness of the wicked come to an end; but establish the just: for the righteous God trieth the hearts and reins. [10] My defence is of God, which saveth the upright in heart.”

Christ is our defense. He contends with those who contend with those in Him.

John 17:15 “I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil.”

He saved us not to leave us to the prey but to defend and protect us.

We continue our reading:

Psalm 7:11-15 “God judgeth the righteous, and God is angry with the wicked every day. [12] If he turn not, he will whet his sword; he hath bent his bow, and made it ready. [13] He hath also prepared for him the instruments of death; he ordaineth his arrows against the persecutors. [14] Behold, he travaileth with iniquity, and hath conceived mischief, and brought forth falsehood. [15] He made a pit, and digged it, and is fallen into the ditch which he made.”

The greatest ditch of the enemy was the Cross.

1 Corinthians 2:7-8 “But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory: [8] Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.”

The hidden mystery and position now revealed to those in Christ.

We conclude our reading:

Psalm 7:16-17 “His mischief shall return upon his own head, and his violent dealing shall come down upon his own pate. [17] I will praise the LORD according to his righteousness: and will sing praise to the name of the LORD most high.”

It’s according to His Righteousness and not our righteousness. His Righteousness which is by faith in the finished work.

Galatians 2:21 “I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain.”

We praise Him for what He has done in death, burial, and resurrection.
We praise Him for our position in Him:

Let Christ be your defense. BELIEVE and confess Christ the Deliverer as we’ve revealed Him from the First Adam. Every enemy defeated, in Christ!
