DEVOTION 93: “The Peace Offering” coming out of Lev. 3
God becomes His own Peace Offering
He is the Mighty God. Everlasting Father, Prince of peace.
Isaiah 9:6 “For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.”
Jehovah becomes the Child in a manger, then the Son on the Cross. The Government of Heaven and Earth are on His shoulders because of what He did on the Cross. He is now revealed to us as Wonderful (wonderworks or manifestations), Counselor (coming to live in us in the Form of the Holy Spirit).
Today, He has revealed Himself as the Mighty God, Everlasting Father, and the Prince of Peace. The Same Jehovah, veiling Himself in different forms, in different generations.
Let’s read:
Leviticus 3:1 “And if his oblation be a sacrifice of peace offering, if he offer it of the herd; whether it be a male or female, he shall offer it without blemish before the LORD.”
The Prince of Peace is a male without blemish (sin). Our peace offering must therefore be a male without sin. We can’t find such a peace offering outside Christ of Whom every herd peace offering was a shadow.
We continue our reading:
Leviticus 3:2 “And he shall lay his hand upon the head of his offering, and kill it at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation: and Aaron's sons the priests shall sprinkle the blood upon the altar round about.”
We lay out hands on Him by faith. He has already been killed for us on the Cross. He has taken His Own blood to Heaven to pay for our redemption.
We continue our reading:
Leviticus 3:3 “And he shall offer of the sacrifice of the peace offering an offering made by fire unto the LORD; the fat that covereth the inwards, and all the fat that is upon the inwards.”
The Fire of the Cross have taken place. We can now have peace with God because we have entered into His crucifixion, and raised up in a newness of life with Him.
We continue our reading:
Leviticus 3:4-6 “And the two kidneys, and the fat that is on them, which is by the flanks, and the caul above the liver, with the kidneys, it shall he take away. [5] And Aaron's sons shall burn it on the altar upon the burnt sacrifice, which is upon the wood that is on the fire: it is an offering made by fire, of a sweet savour unto the LORD. [6] And if his offering for a sacrifice of peace offering unto the LORD be of the flock; male or female, he shall offer it without blemish.”
No matter the herd, the constant is, it must point to the Lamb without blemish (Jesus Christ).
Remember Jesus Christ is the Word.
No matter what we do, we must line up with the Word. Not Cain’s interpretation. Not the Serpents interpretation.
We conclude our reading:
Leviticus 3:7-17 “If he offer a lamb for his offering, then shall he offer it before the LORD. [8] And he shall lay his hand upon the head of his offering, and kill it before the tabernacle of the congregation: and Aaron's sons shall sprinkle the blood thereof round about upon the altar. [9] And he shall offer of the sacrifice of the peace offering an offering made by fire unto the LORD; the fat thereof, and the whole rump, it shall he take off hard by the backbone; and the fat that covereth the inwards, and all the fat that is upon the inwards, [10] And the two kidneys, and the fat that is upon them, which is by the flanks, and the caul above the liver, with the kidneys, it shall he take away. [11] And the priest shall burn it upon the altar: it is the food of the offering made by fire unto the LORD. [12] And if his offering be a goat, then he shall offer it before the LORD. [13] And he shall lay his hand upon the head of it, and kill it before the tabernacle of the congregation: and the sons of Aaron shall sprinkle the blood thereof upon the altar round about. [14] And he shall offer thereof his offering, even an offering made by fire unto the LORD; the fat that covereth the inwards, and all the fat that is upon the inwards, [15] And the two kidneys, and the fat that is upon them, which is by the flanks, and the caul above the liver, with the kidneys, it shall he take away. [16] And the priest shall burn them upon the altar: it is the food of the offering made by fire for a sweet savour: all the fat is the LORD'S. [17] It shall be a perpetual statute for your generations throughout all your dwellings, that ye eat neither fat nor blood.”
Blood is not consumed for food for blood is spiritual. The life (spirit) of the flesh is in the blood.
Leviticus 17:10-11 “And whatsoever man there be of the house of Israel, or of the strangers that sojourn among you, that eateth any manner of blood; I will even set my face against that soul that eateth blood, and will cut him off from among his people. [11] For the life of the flesh is in the blood: and I have given it to you upon the altar to make an atonement for your souls: for it is the blood that maketh an atonement for the soul.”
That’s why blood can turn to bone. Blood is not just physical. It’s spiritual.
Let the Word of God bring you the Peace of God. BELIEVE, and confess Christ the Word as we’ve revealed Him from the First Adam. God is Peace, in Christ!
