What does it mean to have Christ in me?
Understanding what it means to have Christ in you is essential to living a life rooted in faith. If you’ve confessed with your mouth that Jesus Christ is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, then you have Christ in you (Rom. 10:9). This means that you are now a child of God. As Scripture says, "He came to His own, but His own believed Him not. But to those who believed in His name, He gave the power to become children of God" (John 1:11-12). As a child of God, you are transformed into a new creation in Christ—old things have passed away, and everything becomes new (2 Cor. 5:17).
How do we live now that Christ is in me?
With this new identity in Christ, it’s important to understand how to live for God daily. There is a natural law, the law of sin and death, which tries to bring us down. However, the only way to live above this is through the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus, which sets us free from the law of sin and death (Rom. 8:2). The Holy Spirit, also known as the law of life, is the one who empowers us to rise above sin, much like the law of aerodynamics allows airplanes to overcome gravity. This law of the Spirit works in our lives when our faith is placed solely in Christ and what He accomplished on the Cross. There is one faith, one sacrifice, one Savior, one salvation, one baptism, one God, one Holy Spirit, and one law—the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus. Walk in this law by placing your faith exclusively in Christ and His crucifixion.
