“Bypassing The Mind”
Reference: Psalms Chapter 28
God is not known by intellectual faith.
Believing with the mind (intellectual faith) is not the same as believing with the heart.
Romans 10:10 “For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.”
Believing with the mind equals doubts because the mind changes based on time, feelings and circumstances.
Believing with the heart bypasses the mind.
Believing with the heart means we stand on the Word of God irrespective of time, circumstances, feelings, or experience.
This cannot be done until we have received the Holy Spirit of God.
God is not known by experience or feelings. God is known by faith.
Knowing God by the mind is us trying to understand and explain God.
Knowing God by faith is resting the heart on the Word of God without understanding or explanation.
His Word says you are healed by His stripes.
Isaiah 53:5 “But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.”
We do not question how or when? We just simply rest the heart on the Word, and we are healed, whether today or a thousand years from now.
Abraham, you are a father of nations. Amen. Whether today or twenty five years later.
Romans 4:17-19 “(As it is written, I have made thee a father of many nations,) before him whom he believed, even God, who quickeneth the dead, and calleth those things which be not as though they were. [18] Who against hope believed in hope, that he might become the father of many nations; according to that which was spoken, So shall thy seed be. [19] And being not weak in faith, he considered not his own body now dead, when he was about an hundred years old, neither yet the deadness of Sara's womb.”
Believing with the minds is simply to be weak in faith. Abraham had enough reasons in his mind to be weak in faith but he believed not with his mind but with his heart. He rested his heart (faith) on the Word of God.
Virgin Mary, you shall bear a child.
Mary with a million questions in her mind, bypassed the mind and believed with her heart.
“Be unto me according to your Word.”
Luke 1:28-38 “And the angel came in unto her, and said, Hail, thou that art highly favoured, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women. [29] And when she saw him, she was troubled at his saying, and cast in her mind what manner of salutation this should be. [30] And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favour with God. [31] And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS. [32] He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David: [33] And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end. [34] Then said Mary unto the angel, How shall this be, seeing I know not a man? [35] And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God. [36] And, behold, thy cousin Elisabeth, she hath also conceived a son in her old age: and this is the sixth month with her, who was called barren. [37] For with God nothing shall be impossible. [38] And Mary said, Behold the handmaid of the Lord; be it unto me according to thy word. And the angel departed from her.”
God deals with our hearts. The devil deals with our minds (intellect).
David prays in fear.
Let’s read:
Psalm 28:1-3 “Unto thee will I cry, O LORD my rock; be not silent to me: lest, if thou be silent to me, I become like them that go down into the pit. [2] Hear the voice of my supplications, when I cry unto thee, when I lift up my hands toward thy holy oracle. [3] Draw me not away with the wicked, and with the workers of iniquity, which speak peace to their neighbours, but mischief is in their hearts.”
Fear is of the mind.
God has not given us the spirit of fear.
2 Timothy 1:7 “For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.”
Satan sows the spirit of fear.
A sound mind comes from the heart resting solemnly on the Word of God.
The Word of God is Power, the Word of God is Love, for the Word of God is God.
We continue our reading:
Psalm 28:4-5 “Give them according to their deeds, and according to the wickedness of their endeavours: give them after the work of their hands; render to them their desert. [5] Because they regard not the works of the LORD, nor the operation of his hands, he shall destroy them, and not build them up.”
In fear, David prays for the destruction of his enemies instead of the salvation of their souls.
Matthew 5:44 “But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you.”
The bar is set very high, and He displayed it when He prayed for His enemies in crucifixion.
Luke 23:33-34 “And when they were come to the place, which is called Calvary, there they crucified him, and the malefactors, one on the right hand, and the other on the left. [34] Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. And they parted his raiment, and cast lots.”
The same Spirit of Christ in us will draw us to pray for our persecutors, and do good to those who hate us.
We conclude our reading:
Psalm 28:6-9 “Blessed be the LORD, because he hath heard the voice of my supplications. [7] The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in him, and I am helped: therefore my heart greatly rejoiceth; and with my song will I praise him. [8] The LORD is their strength, and he is the saving strength of his anointed. [9] Save thy people, and bless thine inheritance: feed them also, and lift them up for ever.”
God honors faith (believing with our hearts) alone .
If we set our heart on the Word of God, we will always be strengthened, and joy will be our portion.
Fear will have no room when we have bypassed the mind.
The Word of God alone defeats Satan an every ground no matter where it is.
if we will stand toe to toe with Satan on the grounds of the Word of God, He is defeated.
Colossians 2:14-15 “Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross; [15] And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it.”
God’s Word cannot fail.
We defeat Satan not by actions but by standing firmly and exclusively on the Word of God which says he’s ALREADY defeated.
Let your heart be set steadfastly on the Word of God. BELIEVE and confess Christ the Word as we’ve revealed Him from the First Adam. Love, Power, sound mind, for Satan is already defeated, in Christ!
