Devotion 178

DEVOTION 178: “Destroying Every Enemy” coming out of Deu. 25

Sin is your enemy. Sin is a symptom of unbelief.
Satan sells unbelief. We destroy sin by not buying unbelief. We destroy sin by simply believing the Word, the whole Word.

Purchased by His blood, circumcised by the Holy Spirit, washed and shielded by the Word, sin (the enemy) is destroyed.

If Eve stood behind the Word, the enemy (sin) had no way to get to her.

Let’s read:

Deuteronomy 25:1 “If there be a controversy between men, and they come unto judgment, that the judges may judge them; then they shall justify the righteous, and condemn the wicked.”

The dividing line between the righteous and the wicked is the Word. The righteous is in line with the Word, the wicked is walking contrary to the Word.
The wicked is believing not, and is already condemned.

John 3:18 “He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.”

We are righteous only by faith (believing).

Romans 4:3 “For what saith the scripture? Abraham believed God, and it was counted unto him for righteousness.”

We are condemned only by unbelief and doubt. Joshua and Caleb believed. The others doubted.

Condemnation is when we walk after the law of Moses today, and not after the law of the Holy Spirit.

Romans 8:1-2 “There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. [2] For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.”

There is no condemnation to them that have identified with Christ in His life, death, burial, resurrection, ascension, and now dwelling in them in the form of the Holy Spirit.

Matthew 3:11 “I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire:”

Justification, Sanctification, and Holy Spirit Baptism must be believed.

If an individual, group or denomination disbelief, doubts or reject any step of the process of the plan of God, they are under condemnation. They will not be able to freely walk in the law of the Spirit.

We continue our reading:

Deuteronomy 25:2-4 “And it shall be, if the wicked man be worthy to be beaten, that the judge shall cause him to lie down, and to be beaten before his face, according to his fault, by a certain number. [3] Forty stripes he may give him, and not exceed: lest, if he should exceed, and beat him above these with many stripes, then thy brother should seem vile unto thee. [4] Thou shalt not muzzle the ox when he treadeth out the corn.”

Let loose the Word of God and don’t muzzle it. The Word will cut out every false doctrine, and reveal the heart of every false teaching.

Hebrews 4:11-12 “ Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief. [12] For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.”

Unbelief is what muzzles the Word.

We continue our reading:

Deuteronomy 25:5-10 “If brethren dwell together, and one of them die, and have no child, the wife of the dead shall not marry without unto a stranger: her husband's brother shall go in unto her, and take her to him to wife, and perform the duty of an husband's brother unto her. [6] And it shall be, that the firstborn which she beareth shall succeed in the name of his brother which is dead, that his name be not put out of Israel. [7] And if the man like not to take his brother's wife, then let his brother's wife go up to the gate unto the elders, and say, My husband's brother refuseth to raise up unto his brother a name in Israel, he will not perform the duty of my husband's brother. [8] Then the elders of his city shall call him, and speak unto him: and if he stand to it, and say, I like not to take her; [9] Then shall his brother's wife come unto him in the presence of the elders, and loose his shoe from off his foot, and spit in his face, and shall answer and say, So shall it be done unto that man that will not build up his brother's house. [10] And his name shall be called in Israel, The house of him that hath his shoe loosed.”

He is a personal God. Every individual is important to God. He made His promise to Abraham and was bound by the promise to every detail.
Jesus Christ, the Seed of Abraham could only come out of the tribe of Judah because God said so. Keeping the genealogy of every tribe intact was just as important to God as His promise to Abraham.

God is bound by His Word. His word are His Thoughts. He is His Thoughts. You cannot separate your thoughts from you. You cannot separate His thoughts from Him. You cannot separate God from His Word. I can say something and later receive better knowledge to change my mind. Not so with God. He knows it all. His Word is therefore certain. Hence heaven and earth shall pass away but the Word.

We continue our reading:

Deuteronomy 25:11-12 “When men strive together one with another, and the wife of the one draweth near for to deliver her husband out of the hand of him that smiteth him, and putteth forth her hand, and taketh him by the secrets: [12] Then thou shalt cut off her hand, thine eye shall not pity her.”

This act is in direct contradiction with the plan of God for procreation. The act places the individual outside the Word of God. There are always consequences when we step outside the Word of God.

We continue our reading:

Deuteronomy 25:13-15 “Thou shalt not have in thy bag divers weights, a great and a small. [14] Thou shalt not have in thine house divers measures, a great and a small. [15] But thou shalt have a perfect and just weight, a perfect and just measure shalt thou have: that thy days may be lengthened in the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee.”

The perfect, balanced, just weight is His Word. This is what He gave to Adam and Eve in the beginning. God does not need to improve upon His Word. His Word is perfect.

We conclude our reading:

Deuteronomy 25:16-19 “For all that do such things, and all that do unrighteously, are an abomination unto the LORD thy God. [17] Remember what Amalek did unto thee by the way, when ye were come forth out of Egypt; [18] How he met thee by the way, and smote the hindmost of thee, even all that were feeble behind thee, when thou wast faint and weary; and he feared not God. [19] Therefore it shall be, when the LORD thy God hath given thee rest from all thine enemies round about, in the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee for an inheritance to possess it, that thou shalt blot out the remembrance of Amalek from under heaven; thou shalt not forget it.”

Every Amalek or enemy (sin) must be destroyed. We destroy sin by staying with (believing) the Word.

Throw away all doubts and unbelief. Believe the whole Word and righteousness will be accounted to you. The Word will bring you to identify with Him totally in His life, crucifixion, burial, resurrection, ascension, reigning with Him in heavenly places, and He now dwelling in you in the form of the Holy Spirit. From Genesis to Revelation — every Word must be believed.

Let the Word of God destroy every enemy (sin). BELIEVE, and confess Christ the Word as we’ve revealed Him from the First Adam. A Living Double-Edged-Sword, in Christ!
