Devotion 168

DEVOTION 168: “The Lord’s Release” coming out of Deu. 15

Every man or woman in the genealogy of Adam is a slave to Satan. Satan owned the earth when Eve opened the door to him in the garden. Satan then took Adam’s place as the Prince of the earth; god of this world.

Ephesians 2:2 “Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:”

2 Corinthians 4:4
“In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.”

Satan is the current owner of the kingdoms of the world.

Matthew 4:8-9 “Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them; [9] And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me.”

Every man or woman is born into this kingdom of Satan. The only way to be released from the kingdom of Satan is to be born again. We must be born a second time by the Spirit out of the kingdom of Satan into the Kingdom of God.

1 Corinthians 12:13 “For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.”

In the seventh year, every debt was cancelled, every slave was free for release. But a slave could choose to stay with their master. Such a slave was brought out in public, and a hole made in the ear to indicate the choice to remain slave to the original owner.

Exodus 21:5-6 “And if the servant shall plainly say, I love my master, my wife, and my children; I will not go out free: [6] Then his master shall bring him unto the judges; he shall also bring him to the door, or unto the door post; and his master shall bore his ear through with an aul; and he shall serve him for ever.”

The Gospel (the Lord’s release) has come to all. The Day that Jesus Christ fulfilled the Word of the Gospel by going to the Cross, He called the whole world to the Lord’s release.

John 3:14-16 “And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up: [15] That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life. [16] For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”

This is the Release!

The Work of the Cross is the Lord’s release. Every man or woman in the kingdom of Satan is given the opportunity to be born out and into the Kingdom of God.
If an individual refuses the invitation of this gospel, a hole is spiritually bore in their ear, they are enslaved eternally in Satan’s kingdom and will not even understand the Word of God because of the hole (deafness) in the ear.

Moses declares the Lord’s release.

Let’s read:

Deuteronomy 15:1-2 “At the end of every seven years thou shalt make a release. [2] And this is the manner of the release: Every creditor that lendeth ought unto his neighbour shall release it; he shall not exact it of his neighbour, or of his brother; because it is called the LORD'S release.”

Every debt of sin is washed away by His blood when we are born out of the kingdom of Satan into the Kingdom of God. This is done by simply heeding to the Word of the gospel.

We continue our reading:

Deuteronomy 15:3-13 “Of a foreigner thou mayest exact it again: but that which is thine with thy brother thine hand shall release; [4] Save when there shall be no poor among you; for the LORD shall greatly bless thee in the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee for an inheritance to possess it: [5] Only if thou carefully hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to observe to do all these commandments which I command thee this day. [6] For the LORD thy God blesseth thee, as he promised thee: and thou shalt lend unto many nations, but thou shalt not borrow; and thou shalt reign over many nations, but they shall not reign over thee. [7] If there be among you a poor man of one of thy brethren within any of thy gates in thy land which the LORD thy God giveth thee, thou shalt not harden thine heart, nor shut thine hand from thy poor brother: [8] But thou shalt open thine hand wide unto him, and shalt surely lend him sufficient for his need, in that which he wanteth. [9] Beware that there be not a thought in thy wicked heart, saying, The seventh year, the year of release, is at hand; and thine eye be evil against thy poor brother, and thou givest him nought; and he cry unto the LORD against thee, and it be sin unto thee. [10] Thou shalt surely give him, and thine heart shall not be grieved when thou givest unto him: because that for this thing the LORD thy God shall bless thee in all thy works, and in all that thou puttest thine hand unto. [11] For the poor shall never cease out of the land: therefore I command thee, saying, Thou shalt open thine hand wide unto thy brother, to thy poor, and to thy needy, in thy land. [12] And if thy brother, an Hebrew man, or an Hebrew woman, be sold unto thee, and serve thee six years; then in the seventh year thou shalt let him go free from thee. [13] And when thou sendest him out free from thee, thou shalt not let him go away empty:”

We don’t come out of the kingdom of Satan empty. We take with us our children, flock, and everything we earned as slaves in his kingdom.

Exodus 12:35-36 “And the children of Israel did according to the word of Moses; and they borrowed of the Egyptians jewels of silver, and jewels of gold, and raiment: [36] And the LORD gave the people favour in the sight of the Egyptians, so that they lent unto them such things as they required. And they spoiled the Egyptians.”

He is the same God yesterday, today, and forever.

We continue our reading:

Deuteronomy 15:14-17 “Thou shalt furnish him liberally out of thy flock, and out of thy floor, and out of thy winepress: of that wherewith the LORD thy God hath blessed thee thou shalt give unto him. [15] And thou shalt remember that thou wast a bondman in the land of Egypt, and the LORD thy God redeemed thee: therefore I command thee this thing to day. [16] And it shall be, if he say unto thee, I will not go away from thee; because he loveth thee and thine house, because he is well with thee; [17] Then thou shalt take an aul, and thrust it through his ear unto the door, and he shall be thy servant for ever. And also unto thy maidservant thou shalt do likewise.”

The choice of always ours. Whether we will heed to the gospel or receive the hole in our ear.

Matthew 11:15 “He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.”

The one with spiritual ear to hear spiritual things is the one who heeded the gospel call. The Light of the gospel rejected places us in deeper darkness.

Matthew 25:26-28 “His lord answered and said unto him, Thou wicked and slothful servant, thou knewest that I reap where I sowed not, and gather where I have not strawed: [27] Thou oughtest therefore to have put my money to the exchangers, and then at my coming I should have received mine own with usury. [28] Take therefore the talent from him, and give it unto him which hath ten talents.”

We can accept Him and be born into the Kingdom of God or become deaf to Him in the kingdom of Satan.

Matthew 13:15 “For this people's heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them.”

The choice is always ours. The free will of Adam and Eve applies to all today.

We continue our reading:

Deuteronomy 15:18-20 “It shall not seem hard unto thee, when thou sendest him away free from thee; for he hath been worth a double hired servant to thee, in serving thee six years: and the LORD thy God shall bless thee in all that thou doest. [19] All the firstling males that come of thy herd and of thy flock thou shalt sanctify unto the LORD thy God: thou shalt do no work with the firstling of thy bullock, nor shear the firstling of thy sheep. [20] Thou shalt eat it before the LORD thy God year by year in the place which the LORD shall choose, thou and thy household.”

He has chosen the one place, and that place is in Christ.
This is the one place He continually breaks bread us.
This is the one place all prayers are answered.
This is the one place we hear His voice.
This is the one place He abides.

We conclude our reading:

Deuteronomy 15:21-23 “And if there be any blemish therein, as if it be lame, or blind, or have any ill blemish, thou shalt not sacrifice it unto the LORD thy God. [22] Thou shalt eat it within thy gates: the unclean and the clean person shall eat it alike, as the roebuck, and as the hart. [23] Only thou shalt not eat the blood thereof; thou shalt pour it upon the ground as water.”

The sacrifice will not be accepted with a blemished herd because it will not typify Jesus Christ the unblemished Lamb of God.

Let the Light of the gospel birth you out of the kingdom of Satan into the Kingdom of Jesus Christ. BELIEVE, and confess Christ the Word as we’ve revealed Him from the First Adam. The Lord’s release is here for all who would believe, in Christ!
