"His banner over me is Love"
Reference: Song Of Solomon Chapter 2
The love that transcends all understanding: the love of God for his creation, the man whom he made in his own image. He expressed that love through the banner of the cross.
Let's read:
Song of Solomon 2:1-2 "I am the rose of Sharon, and the lily of the valleys. [2] As the lily among thorns, so is my love among the daughters."
God has made this love common and accessible to anyone who will believe, for God so loved the world that he gave his Son, the second Adam, on the cross. Whosoever expresses faith can receive this love of God and become one with their Creator, coming back to the original standard of the first Adam.
We continue our reading:
Song of Solomon 2:3-4 "As the apple tree among the trees of the wood, so is my beloved among the sons. I sat down under his shadow with great delight, and his fruit was sweet to my taste. [4] He brought me to the banqueting house, and his banner over me was love."
If anyone will believe by placing their light of faith in the blood of the second Adam, He will mark you, put a banner over you, saying, "Love." You have entered into the love of God, the immeasurable love of God.
Ephesians 3:17-19 "That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love, [18] May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; [19] And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God."
The Love of God is God. God is love, and when God comes to dwell in the heart of a man or a woman, they have become one with Love. They become the arms, the eyes, and the feet of Love. They become a vessel of Love, extending the Love to the world.
We continue our reading:
Song of Solomon 2:5-10 "Stay me with flagons, comfort me with apples: for I am sick of love. [6] His left hand is under my head, and his right hand doth embrace me. [7] I charge you, O ye daughters of Jerusalem, by the roes, and by the hinds of the field, that ye stir not up, nor awake my love, till he please. [8] The voice of my beloved! behold, he cometh leaping upon the mountains, skipping upon the hills. [9] My beloved is like a roe or a young hart: behold, he standeth behind our wall, he looketh forth at the windows, shewing himself through the lattice. [10] My beloved spake, and said unto me, Rise up, my love, my fair one, and come away."
God made the first man in His image. The broken covenant brought a curse to that man and every man and woman that will come out of the blood of the first man, but God did not leave man to himself. He comes back in Love. Even when we were yet sinners, Christ died for the ungodly. This is the Love of God. The Love of God is the blood of God. That blood has become a person. He is called Jesus Christ.
We continue our reading:
Song of Solomon 2:11-13 "For, lo, the winter is past, the rain is over and gone; [12] The flowers appear on the earth; the time of the singing of birds is come, and the voice of the turtle is heard in our land; [13] The fig tree putteth forth her green figs, and the vines with the tender grape give a good smell. Arise, my love, my fair one, and come away."
"Come unto me" was the call of the Holy Spirit then, and it is the call of the Holy Spirit today
Matthew 11:28 "Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest."
The love of God that no man or woman can escape. We can reject Him, but He will never reject us. He will give us every opportunity even when we remain in unbelief until our last breath when Adam's body gives up the ghost.
We conclude our reading.
Song of Solomon 2:14-17 "O my dove, that art in the clefts of the rock, in the secret places of the stairs, let me see thy countenance, let me hear thy voice; for sweet is thy voice, and thy countenance is comely. [15] Take us the foxes, the little foxes, that spoil the vines: for our vines have tender grapes. [16] My beloved is mine, and I am his: he feedeth among the lilies. [17] Until the day break, and the shadows flee away, turn, my beloved, and be thou like a roe or a young hart upon the mountains of BBetter"
The believer is the beloved of God, the saint of God. He or she has become one with God in love. The true believer is the expression of God's love on earth.
Let the love of God reach you and flow through you to others. BELIEVE and confess Christ, the love of God, as we've revealed him from the first Adam. Love is the blood, in Christ!
