“Glory To Thy Name”
Reference: Psalms Chapter 115
The Creator of the world was in the world but they knew Him not.
John 1:10 “He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not.”
The Name is Jesus Christ.
Philippians 2:10-11 “That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; [11] And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.”
He is the Glory of God.
1 Corinthians 2:7-8 “But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory: [8] Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.”
There is no name in Heaven or Earth greater, of things present, or to come.
Ephesians 1:20-21 “Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places, [21] Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come:”
Unto Thy Name give glory, declares the Psalmist.
Let’s read:
Psalm 115:1 “Not unto us, O LORD, not unto us, but unto thy name give glory, for thy mercy, and for thy truth's sake.”
Jesus Christ is God’s Mercy.
Jesus Christ is God’s Truth.
John 14:6 “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”
Jesus Christ is God’s ONLY way.
We continue our reading:
Psalm 115:2-11 “Wherefore should the heathen say, Where is now their God? [3] But our God is in the heavens: he hath done whatsoever he hath pleased. [4] Their idols are silver and gold, the work of men's hands. [5] They have mouths, but they speak not: eyes have they, but they see not: [6] They have ears, but they hear not: noses have they, but they smell not: [7] They have hands, but they handle not: feet have they, but they walk not: neither speak they through their throat. [8] They that make them are like unto them; so is every one that trusteth in them. [9] O Israel, trust thou in the LORD: he is their help and their shield. [10] O house of Aaron, trust in the LORD: he is their help and their shield. [11] Ye that fear the LORD, trust in the LORD: he is their help and their shield.”
Jesus Christ is the Help and Shield around the believer.
Proverbs 30:5 “Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him.”
Jesus Christ is the Word of God, the Shield of faith quenching every fiery dart.
Ephesians 6:16 “Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.”
Faith in His complete work of His Cross quenched every dart of the wicked one.
We conclude our reading:
Psalm 115:12-18 “The LORD hath been mindful of us: he will bless us; he will bless the house of Israel; he will bless the house of Aaron. [13] He will bless them that fear the LORD, both small and great. [14] The LORD shall increase you more and more, you and your children. [15] Ye are blessed of the LORD which made heaven and earth. [16] The heaven, even the heavens, are the LORD'S: but the earth hath he given to the children of men. [17] The dead praise not the LORD, neither any that go down into silence. [18] But we will bless the LORD from this time forth and for evermore. Praise the LORD.”
He has blessed those that believe Him, both small and great.
Let the Lord increase you. BELIEVE and confess Christ the Word as we’ve revealed Him from the First Adam. The Glory of God, in no other Name, in Christ!
