“The Man And The Beast”

Reference: Job Chapter 14

Jesus Christ is the Man God had in mind.

God created man in His image, to be a place of dwelling for God.

Colossians 1:15 “Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature:”

The First Adam could not keep the image of God because of unbelief. Every child born after Adam and Eve was born out of the union between a man and a woman. They are born the wrong way. They are born in sin, shaped in iniquity, come out of the womb speaking lies, not a man but a beast.

He has to be born again into a man.

Only the Man Christ Jesus was born the right way. Not out of sexual union between a man and a woman but the Holy Spirit moving on a woman.

Luke 1:34-35 “Then said Mary unto the angel, How shall this be, seeing I know not a man? [35] And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God.”

Man is born son of God only by the Holy Spirit.

Man born out of the union between a man and a woman is not a son of God. He must be born again as son of God. He must be born by the Holy Spirit just like Christ.

John 3:5-7 “Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. [6] That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. [7] Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.”

We are born in the Kingdom of God by the Holy Spirit.

1 Corinthians 12:13 “For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.”

The Kingdom of God is made of men and women in the image of God, indwelled by the Spirit of God.

We are born again when we receive the Holy Spirit’s implantation of Jesus Christ (the Son of God) in our hearts.

John 1:12 “But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:

The Holy Spirit implants Christ (the Word) in the womb of our hearts, and implants (baptizes) us in Christ. This is not water Baptism but Spirit Baptism.

Romans 6:3-4 “Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death? [4] Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.”

Old things die, and a new life is formed. This is the man in the image of God.

Job describes fallen man, the shadow of a man.

Let’s read:

Job 14:1-4 “Man that is born of a woman is of few days, and full of trouble. [2] He cometh forth like a flower, and is cut down: he fleeth also as a shadow, and continueth not. [3] And dost thou open thine eyes upon such an one, and bringest me into judgment with thee? [4] Who can bring a clean thing out of an unclean? not one.”

Fallen man, the man simply born out of the union between a man and a woman, is full of troubles. He is simply a shadow of a man.

Nothing clean can come out of fallen man except he be born again.

We continue our reading:

Job 14:5-10 “Seeing his days are determined, the number of his months are with thee, thou hast appointed his bounds that he cannot pass; [6] Turn from him, that he may rest, till he shall accomplish, as an hireling, his day. [7] For there is hope of a tree, if it be cut down, that it will sprout again, and that the tender branch thereof will not cease. [8] Though the root thereof wax old in the earth, and the stock thereof die in the ground; [9] Yet through the scent of water it will bud, and bring forth boughs like a plant. [10] But man dieth, and wasteth away: yea, man giveth up the ghost, and where is he?”

There is better hope for a tree than a fallen man. But the born again man is passed from death unto life, even today.

John 5:24-25 “Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life. [25] Verily, verily, I say unto you, The hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God: and they that hear shall live.”

We continue our reading:

Job 14:11-14 “As the waters fail from the sea, and the flood decayeth and drieth up: [12] So man lieth down, and riseth not: till the heavens be no more, they shall not awake, nor be raised out of their sleep. [13] O that thou wouldest hide me in the grave, that thou wouldest keep me secret, until thy wrath be past, that thou wouldest appoint me a set time, and remember me! [14] If a man die, shall he live again? all the days of my appointed time will I wait, till my change come.”

The born again man or woman shall never die.

John 11:25-26 “Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: [26] And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?”

Yes Job, man shall live again not as fallen but as children of God. But the man who dies without the new birth dies as a beast, and will be tormented.

Revelation 14:9-11 “And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand, [10] The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb: [11] And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name.”

Any man or woman who refuses to be freed by the gospel trumpet is stuck in the condition of the beast. They are marked for destruction.

Today, we either have the mark of God or the mark of the beast.

We conclude our reading:

Job 14:15-22 “Thou shalt call, and I will answer thee: thou wilt have a desire to the work of thine hands. [16] For now thou numberest my steps: dost thou not watch over my sin? [17] My transgression is sealed up in a bag, and thou sewest up mine iniquity. [18] And surely the mountain falling cometh to nought, and the rock is removed out of his place. [19] The waters wear the stones: thou washest away the things which grow out of the dust of the earth; and thou destroyest the hope of man. [20] Thou prevailest for ever against him, and he passeth: thou changest his countenance, and sendest him away. [21] His sons come to honour, and he knoweth it not; and they are brought low, but he perceiveth it not of them. [22] But his flesh upon him shall have pain, and his soul within him shall mourn.”

Job is troubled by his circumstance.

We look not to our circumstances. We look to the Word of God. For the Word of God cannot change.

You must be born again to live again. BELIEVE and confess Christ the Word as we’ve revealed Him from the First Adam. Man is marked for destruction unless born again, in Christ!
