“Love Will Roll The Cloud”
Reference: Job Chapter 13
Prophecies will cease, faith will cease, but the Love for God will forever remain.
1 Corinthians 13:1-3 “Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal. [2] And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing. [3] And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing.”
The Love for God is everything. Greater than hope in God. Greater than faith in God.
1 Corinthians 13:12-13 “For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known. [13] And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.”
With love for God, one can say “though He slay me, yet will I trust Him.”
Job expresses his love for God.
Let’s read:
Job 13:1-15 “Lo, mine eye hath seen all this, mine ear hath heard and understood it. [2] What ye know, the same do I know also: I am not inferior unto you. [3] Surely I would speak to the Almighty, and I desire to reason with God. [4] But ye are forgers of lies, ye are all physicians of no value. [5] O that ye would altogether hold your peace! and it should be your wisdom. [6] Hear now my reasoning, and hearken to the pleadings of my lips. [7] Will ye speak wickedly for God? and talk deceitfully for him? [8] Will ye accept his person? will ye contend for God? [9] Is it good that he should search you out? or as one man mocketh another, do ye so mock him? [10] He will surely reprove you, if ye do secretly accept persons. [11] Shall not his excellency make you afraid? and his dread fall upon you? [12] Your remembrances are like unto ashes, your bodies to bodies of clay. [13] Hold your peace, let me alone, that I may speak, and let come on me what will. [14] Wherefore do I take my flesh in my teeth, and put my life in mine hand? [15] Though he slay me, yet will I trust in him: but I will maintain mine own ways before him.”
Faith does not produce love but love produces faith and trust
Nothing will separate Job from his love for God. Not even death.
When true genuine love of God comes to dwell in us, no persuasion, persecutions, or trials can turn us from loving God.
Romans 8:35-39 “Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? [36] As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter. [37] Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. [38] For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, [39] Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
Love plants us in God and nothing can remove us.
Our union with God is by love. In love, we are one with God. Faith can waiver but love is sturdy.
We continue our reading:
Job 13:16 “He also shall be my salvation: for an hypocrite shall not come before him.”
Salvation is our only way to God else we live as hypocrites.
Salvation is God’s Love towards us and we reciprocating with the same Love towards God.
Salvation is uniting with God in love.
John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
When we receive this Love of God, and love God back, we are united with Him in love, we are saved from death unto life. We have become one with the one Who cannot die.
This love produces faith and trust.
We conclude our reading:
Job 13:17-28 “Hear diligently my speech, and my declaration with your ears. [18] Behold now, I have ordered my cause; I know that I shall be justified. [19] Who is he that will plead with me? for now, if I hold my tongue, I shall give up the ghost. [20] Only do not two things unto me: then will I not hide myself from thee. [21] Withdraw thine hand far from me: and let not thy dread make me afraid. [22] Then call thou, and I will answer: or let me speak, and answer thou me. [23] How many are mine iniquities and sins? make me to know my transgression and my sin. [24] Wherefore hidest thou thy face, and holdest me for thine enemy? [25] Wilt thou break a leaf driven to and fro? and wilt thou pursue the dry stubble? [26] For thou writest bitter things against me, and makest me to possess the iniquities of my youth. [27] Thou puttest my feet also in the stocks, and lookest narrowly unto all my paths; thou settest a print upon the heels of my feet. [28] And he, as a rotten thing, consumeth, as a garment that is moth eaten.”
In all his afflictions, Job trusted God. A trust which is a byproduct of his love for God.
Love God with all your spirit and soul. BELIEVE and confess Christ the Word as we’ve revealed Him from the First Adam. Love is the greatest of all spiritual gifts, in Christ!
