Devotion 153
DEVOTION 153: “The Inheritance has no Boundaries” coming out of Num. 36
The inheritance of the Holy Spirit baptism is not limited to men, women, Jew or Gentile. He is available to all who would believe.
Cornelius, a Gentile, and his family were recipients.
Acts 10:44-47 “While Peter yet spake these words, the Holy Ghost fell on all them which heard the word. [45] And they of the circumcision which believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because that on the Gentiles also was poured out the gift of the Holy Ghost. [46] For they heard them speak with tongues, and magnify God. Then answered Peter, [47] Can any man forbid water, that these should not be baptized, which have received the Holy Ghost as well as we?”
He is available to your daughters.
Joel 2:28-29 “And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions: [29] And also upon the servants and upon the handmaids in those days will I pour out my spirit.”
The daughters of Zelophehad sought their inheritance, and received.
Let’s read:
Numbers 36:1-2 “And the chief fathers of the families of the children of Gilead, the son of Machir, the son of Manasseh, of the families of the sons of Joseph, came near, and spake before Moses, and before the princes, the chief fathers of the children of Israel: [2] And they said, The LORD commanded my lord to give the land for an inheritance by lot to the children of Israel: and my lord was commanded by the LORD to give the inheritance of Zelophehad our brother unto his daughters.”
The promised Holy Land was to be inherited equally so that none loses their inheritance because they had no sons.
The Promised Holy Spirit is poured out to all who have received (believed) the Word. There are no gender disqualifications.
We continue our reading:
Numbers 36:3-7 “And if they be married to any of the sons of the other tribes of the children of Israel, then shall their inheritance be taken from the inheritance of our fathers, and shall be put to the inheritance of the tribe whereunto they are received: so shall it be taken from the lot of our inheritance. [4] And when the jubile of the children of Israel shall be, then shall their inheritance be put unto the inheritance of the tribe whereunto they are received: so shall their inheritance be taken away from the inheritance of the tribe of our fathers. [5] And Moses commanded the children of Israel according to the word of the LORD, saying, The tribe of the sons of Joseph hath said well. [6] This is the thing which the LORD doth command concerning the daughters of Zelophehad, saying, Let them marry to whom they think best; only to the family of the tribe of their father shall they marry. [7] So shall not the inheritance of the children of Israel remove from tribe to tribe: for every one of the children of Israel shall keep himself to the inheritance of the tribe of his fathers.”
The Holy Spirit baptism is personal. Each one on the Day of Pentecost received a personal tongue from heaven.
Acts 2:3 “And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them.”
He does not move from person to person, group to group. He cannot be exchanged or shared. It’s a personal relationship with God. A personal inheritance from God.
We conclude our reading:
Numbers 36:8-13 “And every daughter, that possesseth an inheritance in any tribe of the children of Israel, shall be wife unto one of the family of the tribe of her father, that the children of Israel may enjoy every man the inheritance of his fathers. [9] Neither shall the inheritance remove from one tribe to another tribe; but every one of the tribes of the children of Israel shall keep himself to his own inheritance. [10] Even as the LORD commanded Moses, so did the daughters of Zelophehad: [11] For Mahlah, Tirzah, and Hoglah, and Milcah, and Noah, the daughters of Zelophehad, were married unto their father's brothers' sons: [12] And they were married into the families of the sons of Manasseh the son of Joseph, and their inheritance remained in the tribe of the family of their father. [13] These are the commandments and the judgments, which the LORD commanded by the hand of Moses unto the children of Israel in the plains of Moab by Jordan near Jericho.”
They sought their inheritance, received their inheritance, and kept their inheritance.
May we seek the Promised inheritance of the Holy Spirit, receive the Holy Spirit, and be kept by the Holy Spirit.
Let the Word of God bore in you the inheritance. BELIEVE Jesus Christ the whole Word (and not just some) as we’ve revealed Him from the First Adam. Your inheritance is available, not in your denomination, but in Christ!
