DEVOTION 99: “The Solution Is the Blood” coming out of Lev. 9

The garments have been placed on Aaron, the holy crown on his head, placed in the tabernacle for seven straight days of consecration. Yet, he is asked to make another sin offering on the eighth day.

The seven day consecration of Aaron falls short.

Hebrews 9:24-26 “For Christ is not entered into the holy places made with hands, which are the figures of the true; but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us: [25] Nor yet that he should offer himself often, as the high priest entereth into the holy place every year with blood of others; [26] For then must he often have suffered since the foundation of the world: but now once in the end of the world hath he appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself.”

Because sin is not an external thing. Aaron and his children had not left the tabernacle to be involved in any activities that one would call sin, but needed a sin offering after seven days of consecration because they were sinners by nature.

God is always pointing man to the solution which is the Blood. Man is always trying to look at something else other than the Blood.

God brings Moses, Aaron, and his children right back to the Blood.

Let’s read:

Leviticus 9:1-2 “And it came to pass on the eighth day, that Moses called Aaron and his sons, and the elders of Israel; [2] And he said unto Aaron, Take thee a young calf for a sin offering, and a ram for a burnt offering, without blemish, and offer them before the LORD.”

God brings them right back to the Lamb without blemish.
God is always pointing us to Jesus Christ. He is always pointing us to the Blood the Lamb. He is always pointing us to His Word.
This was what God was pointing Cain to. He was pointing Cain to the blood but Cain was looking elsewhere.
Man today is looking at everything else except for the Blood, and like Cain, they find themselves further away from God.

We continue our reading:

Leviticus 9:3 “And unto the children of Israel thou shalt speak, saying, Take ye a kid of the goats for a sin offering; and a calf and a lamb, both of the first year, without blemish, for a burnt offering;”

He was not just pointing Moses, Aaron and his children to the blood but was pointing the whole Israel back to the blood.
This is how we stay connected to God. It’s only by the Blood of Jesus Christ.

We continue our reading:

Leviticus 9:4-6 “Also a bullock and a ram for peace offerings, to sacrifice before the LORD; and a meat offering mingled with oil: for to day the LORD will appear unto you. [5] And they brought that which Moses commanded before the tabernacle of the congregation: and all the congregation drew near and stood before the LORD. [6] And Moses said, This is the thing which the LORD commanded that ye should do: and the glory of the LORD shall appear unto you.”

The glory of God appears to man on the basis of the blood sacrifice. Without the Blood sacrifice there is no glory of God.
If He did it for another generation, God is bound to do it for this generation as long as the requirement is met.
If His glory fell after the blood was shed in the tabernacle, His glory will fall as long as we enter the Blood of the Lamb by faith today.
If He saved Paul, Peter or John by faith in the Blood, He is bound to save you by faith in the Blood.

He is the same God, and changes not.

We continue our reading:

Leviticus 9:7-23 “And Moses said unto Aaron, Go unto the altar, and offer thy sin offering, and thy burnt offering, and make an atonement for thyself, and for the people: and offer the offering of the people, and make an atonement for them; as the LORD commanded. [8] Aaron therefore went unto the altar, and slew the calf of the sin offering, which was for himself. [9] And the sons of Aaron brought the blood unto him: and he dipped his finger in the blood, and put it upon the horns of the altar, and poured out the blood at the bottom of the altar: [10] But the fat, and the kidneys, and the caul above the liver of the sin offering, he burnt upon the altar; as the LORD commanded Moses. [11] And the flesh and the hide he burnt with fire without the camp. [12] And he slew the burnt offering; and Aaron's sons presented unto him the blood, which he sprinkled round about upon the altar. [13] And they presented the burnt offering unto him, with the pieces thereof, and the head: and he burnt them upon the altar. [14] And he did wash the inwards and the legs, and burnt them upon the burnt offering on the altar. [15] And he brought the people's offering, and took the goat, which was the sin offering for the people, and slew it, and offered it for sin, as the first. [16] And he brought the burnt offering, and offered it according to the manner. [17] And he brought the meat offering, and took an handful thereof, and burnt it upon the altar, beside the burnt sacrifice of the morning. [18] He slew also the bullock and the ram for a sacrifice of peace offerings, which was for the people: and Aaron's sons presented unto him the blood, which he sprinkled upon the altar round about, [19] And the fat of the bullock and of the ram, the rump, and that which covereth the inwards, and the kidneys, and the caul above the liver: [20] And they put the fat upon the breasts, and he burnt the fat upon the altar: [21] And the breasts and the right shoulder Aaron waved for a wave offering before the LORD; as Moses commanded. [22] And Aaron lifted up his hand toward the people, and blessed them, and came down from offering of the sin offering, and the burnt offering, and peace offerings. [23] And Moses and Aaron went into the tabernacle of the congregation, and came out, and blessed the people: and the glory of the LORD appeared unto all the people.”

The glory of God appeared unto the people after the sacrifices just as He had promised.
He will always meet us in the Blood of Jesus Christ, and nowhere else.

We conclude our reading:

Leviticus 9:24 “And there came a fire out from before the LORD, and consumed upon the altar the burnt offering and the fat: which when all the people saw, they shouted, and fell on their faces.”

He is the same Pillar of fire from heaven that appeared to Moses. He is the same Pillar of fire from heaven that followed the children of Israel through the wilderness. He is the same Pillar of fire or Light from heaven that appeared to Paul  on the road to Damascus. He is the same fired that descended on the Day of Pentecost.

He is the same fire yesterday, today, and forever.

Let the Word of God bring you in line with God. BELIEVE, and confess Christ the Word as we’ve revealed Him from the First Adam. He will always meet us in the Blood, in Christ!
