DEVOTION 107: “The Atoning Blood” coming out of Lev. 17

It’s the Blood that makes atonement for our souls.

The Word of God is about the Blood of Jesus Christ. We become one with God through the Blood.
When we are cleansed by the Blood, we enter into oneness with God so that the thoughts (mind) of God become our thoughts (mind), the urges of God becomes our urge, the Love of God for the world becomes our Love for the world.

This is the reason God repeatedly pointed Israel to the Blood, and today points us to the Blood of Jesus Christ.

Let’s read

Leviticus 17:1-4 “And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, [2] Speak unto Aaron, and unto his sons, and unto all the children of Israel, and say unto them; This is the thing which the LORD hath commanded, saying, [3] What man soever there be of the house of Israel, that killeth an ox, or lamb, or goat, in the camp, or that killeth it out of the camp, [4] And bringeth it not unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, to offer an offering unto the LORD before the tabernacle of the LORD; blood shall be imputed unto that man; he hath shed blood; and that man shall be cut off from among his people:”

The Blood of Jesus Christ had to be shed on a Cross at an exact location.
Jesus could not be crucified in Rome or Egypt. That would make God a liar, and we know the Word of God cannot lie. Every word of God is true.
Likewise, the sacrificial animal which pointed to Christ had to be sacrificed inside the Tabernacle, and no place else.
The Way of God is specific. If we do things exactly as He requires, He’s bound to respond exactly as He has responded in the past.

We continue our reading:

Leviticus 17:5-9 “To the end that the children of Israel may bring their sacrifices, which they offer in the open field, even that they may bring them unto the LORD, unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, unto the priest, and offer them for peace offerings unto the LORD. [6] And the priest shall sprinkle the blood upon the altar of the LORD at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, and burn the fat for a sweet savour unto the LORD. [7] And they shall no more offer their sacrifices unto devils, after whom they have gone a whoring. This shall be a statute for ever unto them throughout their generations. [8] And thou shalt say unto them, Whatsoever man there be of the house of Israel, or of the strangers which sojourn among you, that offereth a burnt offering or sacrifice, [9] And bringeth it not unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation, to offer it unto the LORD; even that man shall be cut off from among his people.”

Whether a Jew or Gentile (stranger), the sacrifice is accepted as long as it met the requirement. The requirement was a herd without blemished sacrificed in the Tabernacle. This is Jesus Christ and Him crucified on the Cross. Any other form of worship, belief, or doctrine is rejected. The Mormon book, Roman Catholic writings, Jehovah Witnesses doctrines are all rejected. It must be faith in Jesus Christ alone and what He completed on the Cross aa our only means to God.
The Way to God is not through a creed by man, not through Mary, Buddha or any other religious leader. Jesus Christ and Him crucified is the Way, Truth, and Life of God to man.
Faith exclusively in Jesus Christ and Him crucified is how we meet the requirement of God.

We continue our reading:

Leviticus 17:10-11 “And whatsoever man there be of the house of Israel, or of the strangers that sojourn among you, that eateth any manner of blood; I will even set my face against that soul that eateth blood, and will cut him off from among his people. [11] For the life of the flesh is in the blood: and I have given it to you upon the altar to make an atonement for your souls: for it is the blood that maketh an atonement for the soul.”

The life of the flesh is in the blood. The life of Jesus Christ is in the Blood of Jesus Christ. Without faith exclusively in the Blood of Jesus Christ, He benefits us nothing.
Faith in Jesus Christ in the manger does not wash away our sin. Faith in Jesus Christ the Prophet does not wash away our sin. It must be faith specifically in the Blood of Jesus to meet the requirement. He must become our Sacrificial Lamb to God.

We conclude our reading:

Leviticus 17:12-16 “Therefore I said unto the children of Israel, No soul of you shall eat blood, neither shall any stranger that sojourneth among you eat blood. [13] And whatsoever man there be of the children of Israel, or of the strangers that sojourn among you, which hunteth and catcheth any beast or fowl that may be eaten; he shall even pour out the blood thereof, and cover it with dust. [14] For it is the life of all flesh; the blood of it is for the life thereof: therefore I said unto the children of Israel, Ye shall eat the blood of no manner of flesh: for the life of all flesh is the blood thereof: whosoever eateth it shall be cut off. [15] And every soul that eateth that which died of itself, or that which was torn with beasts, whether it be one of your own country, or a stranger, he shall both wash his clothes, and bathe himself in water, and be unclean until the even: then shall he be clean. [16] But if he wash them not, nor bathe his flesh; then he shall bear his iniquity.”

The life of Christ is in His blood.

Let the Blood of Christ bring you the life of Christ. BELIEVE, and confess Christ as we’ve revealed Him from the First Adam. The Blood makes more than an atonement for us. It’s our redemption, in Christ!
