“He Sent Redemption To His People”

Reference: Psalms Chapter 111

For something to be redeemed, it must first be lost. Man was stolen by unbelief in the Garden of Eden, and man must be redeemed by faith on the mountain of Calvary.

Redemption has a name. His Name is Jesus Christ.

The Psalmist declares wisdom begins with fearing God.

Let’s read:

Psalm 111:1-2 “Praise ye the LORD. I will praise the LORD with my whole heart, in the assembly of the upright, and in the congregation. [2] The works of the LORD are great, sought out of all them that have pleasure therein.”

His great work was creation. His greatest work is the redemption of His creation. The redeemed cannot help but be joyful. Redeemed from the bloodline of disease and death to the blood line of health and eternal life.

We continue our reading:

Psalm 111:3 “His work is honourable and glorious: and his righteousness endureth for ever.”

The work of creation by the Word of God was marvelous. But creation fell into the hands of the enemy.
The work of the Cross was glorious and honorable. It has eternal consequences. The work of the Cross endures forever.

We continue our reading:

Psalm 111:6 “He hath shewed his people the power of his works, that he may give them the heritage of the heathen.”

The work of the Cross is the power of God.

1 Corinthians 1:18 “For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.”

The Cross is the redemptive power and wisdom of God. Jesus Christ received the heritage of the world including the heathen through His redemptive work on the Cross.

Revelation 7:9-10 “After this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands; [10] And cried with a loud voice, saying, Salvation to our God which sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb.”

We continue our reading:

Psalm 111:7-9 “The works of his hands are verity and judgment; all his commandments are sure. [8] They stand fast for ever and ever, and are done in truth and uprightness. [9] He sent redemption unto his people: he hath commanded his covenant for ever: holy and reverend is his name.”

His Covenant Name is Jesus Christ.

Isaiah 9:6-7 “For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. [7] Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from henceforth even for ever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this.”

God promised it, and He fulfilled it. The believing of this God is the beginning of wisdom.

We conclude our reading:

Psalm 111:10 “The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do his commandments: his praise endureth for ever.”

The redeemed (those who have believed and received God through the Cross) will forever praise Him. For they have experienced the greatest transformation of being born again.

He sent us Redemption. BELIEVE and confess Christ the Redeemer as we’ve revealed Him from the First Adam. Redemption is here, in Christ!
