“Lead Me To The RocK”

Reference: Psalms Chapter 61

The Rock of God is the revelation of Jesus Christ.

Matthew 16:18 “And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.”

The revelation of Jesus Christ as Son in the flesh and God in Spirit is the Rock to stand on.

The revelation of Jesus Christ as Savior through His shed blood before the foundation of the world.

1 Peter 1:18-20 “Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; [19] But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot: [20] Who verily was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you.”

The revelation of Jesus Christ as the disciples later saw.

John 1:1 “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.”

The revelation of Jesus Christ as Paul sought.

Philippians 3:9-10 “And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith: [10] That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death.”

The revelation of Jesus Christ as John saw and wrote about.

Revelation 1:1,4-5 “The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave unto him, to shew unto his servants things which must shortly come to pass; and he sent and signified it by his angel unto his servant John: [4] John to the seven churches which are in Asia: Grace be unto you, and peace, from him which is, and which was, and which is to come; and from the seven Spirits which are before his throne; [5] And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood.”

The revelation of Jesus Christ which is still ongoing, manifesting Himself through the Holy Spirit.

John 14:19-20 “Yet a little while, and the world seeth me no more; but ye see me: because I live, ye shall live also. [20] At that day ye shall know that I am in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you.”

The revelation of Jesus Christ as God in man, the same yesterday, today, and forever.

This revelation of Jesus Christ is the Rock that lifts every man, woman, boy or girl.

Let’s read:

Psalm 61:1-2 “Hear my cry, O God; attend unto my prayer. [2] From the end of the earth will I cry unto thee, when my heart is overwhelmed: lead me to the rock that is higher than I.”

The revelation of Jesus Christ as the Rock higher than anyone, anything, any place, any position.

Ephesians 1:19-22 “And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power, [20] Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places, [21] Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come: [22] And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church,”

The revelation of Jesus Christ as life.

John 14:6 “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”

The revelation of Jesus Christ as the Word of God, the truth of God, and the only way of God.

We continue our reading:

Psalm 61:3 “For thou hast been a shelter for me, and a strong tower from the enemy.”

The revelation of the Blood of Jesus Christ as the only shelter from the Enemy.

Exodus 12:23 “For the LORD will pass through to smite the Egyptians; and when he seeth the blood upon the lintel, and on the two side posts, the LORD will pass over the door, and will not suffer the destroyer to come in unto your houses to smite you.”

He was the destroyer in Egypt, the deceiver and devil today.  He is overcome by the Blood of Jesus Christ on the doorpost of our hearts.

We continue our reading:

Psalm 61:4 “I will abide in thy tabernacle for ever: I will trust in the covert of thy wings. Selah.”

The revelation of Jesus Christ as the covering wings of the Holy Spirit.

Luke 13:34 “O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, which killest the prophets, and stonest them that are sent unto thee; how often would I have gathered thy children together, as a hen doth gather her brood under her wings, and ye would not!”

The same Wing looking to cover those who would run to Him for shelter today.

We continue our reading:

Psalm 61:5 “For thou, O God, hast heard my vows: thou hast given me the heritage of those that fear thy name.”

The revelation of Jesus Christ as the Name of God.

Isaiah 9:6 “For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.”

The revelation that the Name of Jesus Christ is Mighty God, Everlasting Father.

We continue our reading:

Psalm 61:6-7 “Thou wilt prolong the king's life: and his years as many generations. [7] He shall abide before God for ever: O prepare mercy and truth, which may preserve him.”

The revelation that Jesus Christ as the only Forever King.  

Revelation 19:16 “And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.”

The revelation of Jesus Christ as God’s sustenance.

Jesus Christ is Mercy.
Jesus Christ is Truth.
Jesus Christ is the Bread of life.

Jesus Christ is all that the world needs.

We conclude our reading.

Psalm 61:8 “So will I sing praise unto thy name for ever, that I may daily perform my vows.”

The forever Name of God  is Jesus Christ.
He is Jehovah Rapha (healer) through JehovahJireh (provider) to Jehovah Sharma (ever present).

The never ending revelation of Jesus Christ, stands outside of time, spans from no beginning to eternity.

Let Jesus Christ be continuously revealed to you. BELIEVE and confess Christ the Word as we’ve revealed him from the First Adam. He is revealing Himself day by day, minute by minute, second by second, in Christ!
