“Returning To The Garden”

Reference: Psalms Chapter 15

It was sin that put man out of the Garden.

Genesis 3:22-24 “And the LORD God said, Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and evil: and now, lest he put forth his hand, and take also of the tree of life, and eat, and live for ever: [23] Therefore the LORD God sent him forth from the garden of Eden, to till the ground from whence he was taken. [24] So he drove out the man; and he placed at the east of the garden of Eden Cherubims, and a flaming sword which turned every way, to keep the way of the tree of life.”

It will take perfection for man to return to the Garden.

Man has no way of perfecting himself. God kept a relationship with the imperfect man from the very beginning through the shed blood of a lamb.

Genesis 4:4 “And Abel, he also brought of the firstlings of his flock and of the fat thereof. And the LORD had respect unto Abel and to his offering:”

From Abel through David, God kept a relationship with imperfect man through the shed blood of a lamb.

The blood of a lamb could not make man perfect.

Hebrews 9:1-9 “Then verily the first covenant had also ordinances of divine service, and a worldly sanctuary. [2] For there was a tabernacle made; the first, wherein was the candlestick, and the table, and the shewbread; which is called the sanctuary. [3] And after the second veil, the tabernacle which is called the Holiest of all; [4] Which had the golden censer, and the ark of the covenant overlaid round about with gold, wherein was the golden pot that had manna, and Aaron's rod that budded, and the tables of the covenant; [5] And over it the cherubims of glory shadowing the mercyseat; of which we cannot now speak particularly. [6] Now when these things were thus ordained, the priests went always into the first tabernacle, accomplishing the service of God. [7] But into the second went the high priest alone once every year, not without blood, which he offered for himself, and for the errors of the people: [8] The Holy Ghost this signifying, that the way into the holiest of all was not yet made manifest, while as the first tabernacle was yet standing: [9] Which was a figure for the time then present, in which were offered both gifts and sacrifices, that could not make him that did the service perfect, as pertaining to the conscience.”

The blood of a lamb could not make man perfect, and therefore could not bring man back into the Garden.

Perfection comes only by the Blood of the Lamb of God.

Hebrews 10:1,4,12,14 “For the law having a shadow of good things to come, and not the very image of the things, can never with those sacrifices which they offered year by year continually make the comers thereunto perfect. [4] For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and of goats should take away sins. [12] But this man, after he had offered one sacrifice for sins for ever, sat down on the right hand of God; [14] For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified.”

Faith in the blood sacrifice of Jesus Christ perfects those who have believed. This is our key back to the Garden or Tabernacle of God,

David asks the question, who shall dwell in the Tabernacle of God?

Let’s read:

Psalm 15:1 “LORD, who shall abide in thy tabernacle? who shall dwell in thy holy hill?”

Man is unholy. God is Holy. The two cannot dwell together. Dwelling in the Tabernacle or Garden of God requires perfect holiness. This perfect holiness comes only by faith in the shed blood of the Lamb Jesus Christ.

We continue our reading:

Psalm 15:2 “He that walketh uprightly, and worketh righteousness, and speaketh the truth in his heart.”

Self righteousness will not get us back into the Garden. It has to be the Righteousness of Christ which comes not by the blood of bulls and goats nor by any law.

Righteousness of Christ is imputed unto us by our faith in His blood sacrifice.

James 2:23 “And the scripture was fulfilled which saith, Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness: and he was called the Friend of God.”

Righteousness comes no other way.

Galatians 2:21 “I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain.”

Faith in the death of Christ (shed blood) is the only means to righteousness. It’s an imputed righteousness.

Through the shed blood of Christ, we wrap ourselves in His robe of Righteousness. He takes our unrighteousness and gives us His Righteousness when we identify with Him by faith.

We identify with Him through death, burial, resurrection, ascension, and now with us and in us  in the Person of the Holy Spirit by faith.

John 14:19-20 “Yet a little while, and the world seeth me no more; but ye see me: because I live, ye shall live also. [20] At that day ye shall know that I am in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you.”

Christ in us is what brings us into the Garden, the Tabernacle of God.

We conclude our reading:

Psalm 15:3-5 “He that backbiteth not with his tongue, nor doeth evil to his neighbour, nor taketh up a reproach against his neighbour. [4] In whose eyes a vile person is contemned; but he honoureth them that fear the LORD. He that sweareth to his own hurt, and changeth not. [5] He that putteth not out his money to usury, nor taketh reward against the innocent. He that doeth these things shall never be moved.”

A grave vine will bear grape fruit.

An orange vine will bear orange fruit.

A peach vine will bear peach fruit.

Christ the Vine in us will bear His fruit of righteousness.

Christ in us is the only means back to the Garden.

Let the Word of God establish Christ in you. BELIEVE and confess Christ the Word as we’ve revealed Him from the First Adam. By His shed blood, He has perfected those who believe, in Christ!
