"Memory."

Reference: Ecclesiastes Chapter 7

Great memory of a man or woman is not because their name is in a Guinness Book of Records, on a building, or a billboard, but a great memory of the man or woman is that their name has been entered into the Lamb's book of life.
To such a person, is their death day better than their birth day because their death day introduces them to eternal life, a resurrected glorified body, without sickness, without sin, a far better life.

Paul, in the book of Philippians, related this when he said, "To live is Christ and to die is gain," a better death day than his birth day. He found himself inbetween living on Earth and moving on to glory, which is far better.

Philippians 1:21,23 "For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain. [23] For I am in a strait betwixt two, having a desire to depart, and to be with Christ; which is far better:"

Physical death for the believer in Christ, who has taken their life out of the blood of the first Adam into the blood of the second Adam, is a great gain. But death, for the unbeliever, the person that remains in the blood of Adam through unbelief is a loss, and a great loss at that.

Let's read:

Ecclesiastes 7:1 "A good name is better than precious ointment; and the day of death than the day of one's birth."

A good name is a name that has entered into the blood of the second Adam, the Lamb of God. A good name is written in the blood of God into the Lamb's book of life.

Revelation 21:22-23,25,27 "And I saw no temple therein: for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are the temple of it. [23] And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof. [25] And the gates of it shall not be shut at all by day: for there shall be no night there. [27] And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb's book of life."

The names written in the red blood of God, in the Lamb's book of life, will never be forgotten. For the blood of God, the shed blood of the second Adam, will forever be remembered.

We continue our reading:

Ecclesiastes 7:2-8 "It is better to go to the house of mourning, than to go to the house of feasting: for that is the end of all men; and the living will lay it to his heart. [3] Sorrow is better than laughter: for by the sadness of the countenance the heart is made better. [4] The heart of the wise is in the house of mourning; but the heart of fools is in the house of mirth. [5] It is better to hear the rebuke of the wise, than for a man to hear the song of fools. [6] For as the crackling of thorns under a pot, so is the laughter of the fool: this also is vanity. [7] Surely oppression maketh a wise man mad; and a gift destroyeth the heart. [8] Better is the end of a thing than the beginning thereof: and the patient in spirit is better than the proud in spirit."

A better end is in Christ, the blood of God. It's not how we begin. It's how we finish. It's not when you began in Christ. It's finishing in Christ.

We continue our reading:

Ecclesiastes 7:9-10 "Be not hasty in thy spirit to be angry: for anger resteth in the bosom of fools. [10] Say not thou, What is the cause that the former days were better than these? for thou dost not enquire wisely concerning this."

A wise inquiry is to know that we cannot get warm from a painted fire. He is God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. He is also God of the life after death. But none of that will benefit us unless He is our God of today, right now, right here. He is God of the present. He is God the Holy Spirit in  and with the believer who has become one with God, by taken their light out of the blood of the fallen Adam into the blood of the last Adam.

We continue our reading:

Ecclesiastes 7:11-14 "Wisdom is good with an inheritance: and by it there is profit to them that see the sun. [12] For wisdom is a defence, and money is a defence: but the excellency of knowledge is, that wisdom giveth life to them that have it. [13] Consider the work of God: for who can make that straight, which he hath made crooked? [14] In the day of prosperity be joyful, but in the day of adversity consider: God also hath set the one over against the other, to the end that man should find nothing after him."

There is nothing else to look for outside of God. We find Him when we escape the blood of Adam into His new blood. God has set the course of the world so that nothing will satisfy me outside oneness with God.

We continue our reading:

Ecclesiastes 7:15-19 "All things have I seen in the days of my vanity: there is a just man that perisheth in his righteousness, and there is a wicked man that prolongeth his life in his wickedness. [16] Be not righteous over much; neither make thyself over wise: why shouldest thou destroy thyself? [17] Be not over much wicked, neither be thou foolish: why shouldest thou die before thy time? [18] It is good that thou shouldest take hold of this; yea, also from this withdraw not thine hand: for he that feareth God shall come forth of them all. [19] Wisdom strengtheneth the wise more than ten mighty men which are in the city."

The Holy Spirit, who is wisdom in a man or woman, makes them mightier than thousands.

We conclude our reading:

Ecclesiastes 7:20-29 "For there is not a just man upon earth, that doeth good, and sinneth not. [21] Also take no heed unto all words that are spoken; lest thou hear thy servant curse thee: [22] For oftentimes also thine own heart knoweth that thou thyself likewise hast cursed others. [23] All this have I proved by wisdom: I said, I will be wise; but it was far from me. [24] That which is far off, and exceeding deep, who can find it out? [25] I applied mine heart to know, and to search, and to seek out wisdom, and the reason of things, and to know the wickedness of folly, even of foolishness and madness: [26] And I find more bitter than death the woman, whose heart is snares and nets, and her hands as bands: whoso pleaseth God shall escape from her; but the sinner shall be taken by her. [27] Behold, this have I found, saith the preacher, counting one by one, to find out the account: [28] Which yet my soul seeketh, but I find not: one man among a thousand have I found; but a woman among all those have I not found. [29] Lo, this only have I found, that God hath made man upright; but they have sought out many inventions."

The upright man or woman is the one that lives by their sixth sense, their sense of faith, with their light turned on. But many want to live by their five physical senses. They are led by reasoning, logic, and many inventions, which doesn't bring us to God but actually keeps us away from God.

Let your name be written in blood in the Lamb's Book of Life. BELIEVE and confess Christ, the blood of God, as we revealed Him from the first Adam. A great name is only in Christ!
