“Our Refuge”

Reference: Psalms Chapter 142

Adam was to be clothed with the Word of God. In unbelief, Adam became naked.

Jesus Christ is Light clothed in the Word of God.

In Christ, we are clothed with the Word of God.

The Word of God is the refuge of the light (the believer). Faith in the Word keeps as clothed. Unbelief and doubt exposes us.

The Psalmist seeks a refuge.

Let’s read:

Psalm 142:1-4 “I cried unto the LORD with my voice; with my voice unto the LORD did I make my supplication. [2] I poured out my complaint before him; I shewed before him my trouble. [3] When my spirit was overwhelmed within me, then thou knewest my path. In the way wherein I walked have they privily laid a snare for me. [4] I looked on my right hand, and beheld, but there was no man that would know me: refuge failed me; no man cared for my soul.”

Anything will fail as refuge except the Word of God.

The Word of God is God.

We continue our reading:

Psalm 142:5 “I cried unto thee, O LORD: I said, Thou art my refuge and my portion in the land of the living.”

The Lord is our refuge, and the only refuge. We are clothed by Him by faith in His Word.

The Word of God our refuge will defeat Satan at any place at anytime.

We conclude our reading:

Psalm 142:6-7 “Attend unto my cry; for I am brought very low: deliver me from my persecutors; for they are stronger than I. [7] Bring my soul out of prison, that I may praise thy name: the righteous shall compass me about; for thou shalt deal bountifully with me.”

Men and women are imprisoned by the blood-seed of Adam. God has made a way for men and women to escape the blood-seed of Adam into the blood-seed of Christ.

It is the way of faith.

Let faith bring you out of Adam into Christ. BELIEVE and confess Christ our Refuge as we’ve revealed Him from the First Adam. Faith in the Word keeps the believer clothed, in Christ!
