"God Preserves Those Loving Him"

Psalm 145:20 "The LORD preserveth all them that love him: but all the wicked will he destroy."

Egypt and Ethiopia led captives, young and old, taken naked as slaves.

Isaiah writes.

Let's read:

Isaiah 20:1-4 "In the year that Tartan came unto Ashdod, (when Sargon the king of Assyria sent him,) and fought against Ashdod, and took it; [2] At the same time spake the LORD by Isaiah the son of Amoz, saying, Go and loose the sackcloth from off thy loins, and put off thy shoe from thy foot. And he did so, walking naked and barefoot. [3] And the LORD said, Like as my servant Isaiah hath walked naked and barefoot three years for a sign and wonder upon Egypt and upon Ethiopia; [4] So shall the king of Assyria lead away the Egyptians prisoners, and the Ethiopians captives, young and old, naked and barefoot, even with their buttocks uncovered, to the shame of Egypt."

These heathen nations were not walking according to the word of God. They believed in their idols instead of the one living God. He promises to preserve those who love Him, those who believe Him and destroy the wicked, the unbeliever. And that was exactly what He did at the time of Sodom and Gomorrah, at the time of Noah, and soon the great tribulation.

We conclude our reading:

Isaiah 20:5-6 "And they shall be afraid and ashamed of Ethiopia their expectation, and of Egypt their glory. [6] And the inhabitant of this isle shall say in that day, Behold, such is our expectation, whither we flee for help to be delivered from the king of Assyria: and how shall we escape?"

The Lord uses the elements to judge nations. It was fire and brimstone on Sodom and Gomorrah. It was a water flood at the time of Noah. So shall the elements be used on the day of the Lord.

2 Peter 3:10-11 "But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up. [11] Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness."

Walk close with the Lord in godliness. BELIEVE and confess Christ, the second Adam, as we have revealed Him from the first Adam. The day of the Lord is at hand, in Christ!
