“Praying In Faith”
Reference: Psalms Chapter 123
To receive an answer to prayer, look at how Jesus Christ received answers to prayer.
Matthew 17:16-18 “And I brought him to thy disciples, and they could not cure him. [17] Then Jesus answered and said, O faithless and perverse generation, how long shall I be with you? how long shall I suffer you? bring him hither to me. [18] And Jesus rebuked the devil; and he departed out of him: and the child was cured from that very hour.”
To pray with faith, we must see Jesus Christ as our way to answered prayer. He has redeemed us and united us with God. He has brought God to dwell in us. We can now with boldness speak with God in faith.
Hebrews 10:14-20 “For by one offering he hath perfected for ever them that are sanctified. [15] Whereof the Holy Ghost also is a witness to us: for after that he had said before, [16] This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, saith the Lord, I will put my laws into their hearts, and in their minds will I write them; [17] And their sins and iniquities will I remember no more. [18] Now where remission of these is, there is no more offering for sin. [19] Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus, [20] By a new and living way, which he hath consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh.”
Because of the shed blood of Jesus Christ, we can confidently come to God without an evil conscience, doubt, or unbelief.
Hebrews 10:21-23 “And having an high priest over the house of God; [22] Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water. [23] Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised).
Jesus Christ is the Door to a prayer in faith. Understanding with no doubt that Jesus Christ has paid the price for every need from God.
To pray in faith, see Jesus Christ in you.
Ephesians 1:18 “The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints.”
Praying in faith is to look unto Jesus.
Hebrews 12:2 “Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.”
That’s how we get answers to prayers. Looking to Christ.
Psalm 34:5 “They looked unto him, and were lightened: and their faces were not ashamed.”
Praying in faith is knowing the Holy Spirit dwells in you.
John 1:14 “And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.”
He continues to dwell in us today in the Person of the Holy Spirit.
Luke 4:18 “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,”
To pray with faith is to see Jesus Christ alive with the keys to Heaven and Earth.
Revelation 1:18 “I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.”
The Psalmist prays.
Let’s read:
Psalm 123:1 “Unto thee lift I up mine eyes, O thou that dwellest in the heavens.”
Today, God is not only dwelling in Heaven. God dwells in those who have received His Word. Those who have received Jesus Christ. Those who have received the Holy Spirit of God. Those in Christ has become the temple or dwelling place of God. They have become tabernacles for God on earth helping people just like Jesus Christ was a body carrying God on earth, healing and helping people.
We continue our reading:
Psalm 123:2 “Behold, as the eyes of servants look unto the hand of their masters, and as the eyes of a maiden unto the hand of her mistress; so our eyes wait upon the LORD our God, until that he have mercy upon us.”
To pray and receive answers, we must behold Jesus Christ. We must see Him as us, and see us like Him. We must believe like He believed. We must see the big picture that God had redeemed us to the original form of creation. He has displayed for us what we must be like in Jesus Christ.
Jesus Christ is our example.
God was the Spirit in the man Christ Jesus.
Today, we have become men and women with the Spirit of God.
John 20:21-23 “Then said Jesus to them again, Peace be unto you: as my Father hath sent me, even so send I you. [22] And when he had said this, he breathed on them, and saith unto them, Receive ye the Holy Ghost: [23] Whose soever sins ye remit, they are remitted unto them; and whose soever sins ye retain, they are retained.”
We go and help the sick and needy just like Jesus Christ. We continue the work that God started in Jesus Christ. We bring the Love of God, the Mercy of God, the Healing virtue of God to the world.
We conclude our reading:
Psalm 123:3-4 “Have mercy upon us, O LORD, have mercy upon us: for we are exceedingly filled with contempt. [4] Our soul is exceedingly filled with the scorning of those that are at ease, and with the contempt of the proud.”
Jesus Christ did not walk in fear our doubt. Like Christ, we are ambassadors of God. God’s embassy dwells in those who have received Christ.
Pray in faith. BELIEVE and confess Christ the Redeemer as we’ve revealed Him from the First Adam. God in unity with men and women, in Christ!
