“The Humility Of God”

Reference: Psalms Chapter 113

The Creator of man took on the body of man to serve man.

Jehovah born among sheep.
Jehovah walking on the streets of Nazareth, playing with children.
Jehovah hungry.
Jehovah tired.
Jehovah standing to be judged by men.
Jehovah slapped on the face.
Jehovah spat on.
Jehovah hanged by men.

No wonder the sun refused to shine on that day.

Luke 23:44-45 “And it was about the sixth hour, and there was a darkness over all the earth until the ninth hour. [45] And the sun was darkened, and the veil of the temple was rent in the midst.”

The Psalmist declares, who is like unto you oh Lord.

Let’s read:

Psalm 113:1-6 “Praise ye the LORD. Praise, O ye servants of the LORD, praise the name of the LORD. [2] Blessed be the name of the LORD from this time forth and for evermore. [3] From the rising of the sun unto the going down of the same the LORD'S name is to be praised. [4] The LORD is high above all nations, and his glory above the heavens. [5] Who is like unto the LORD our God, who dwelleth on high, [6] Who humbleth himself to behold the things that are in heaven, and in the earth!”

There is none like Him. Blessed be the Name of the Lord.

He took the position of the sinner so that the sinner could take His position of righteousness.
He endured death so that the believer will endure eternal life.
He endured poverty so that the believer will enjoy riches.

Who is like unto Jesus Christ?

We conclude our reading:

Psalm 113:7-9 “He raiseth up the poor out of the dust, and lifteth the needy out of the dunghill; [8] That he may set him with princes, even with the princes of his people. [9] He maketh the barren woman to keep house, and to be a joyful mother of children. Praise ye the LORD.”

This is why His praises is continually in our mouth.

Let’s take up our cross and follow Him in humility. BELIEVE and confess Christ the Humble Servant as we’ve revealed Him from the First Adam. He humbled Himself even to the death on a cross, in Christ!
