DEVOTION 155: “The Seed of Faith vs The Seed of Wisdom” coming out of Deu. 2
Both began in Genesis.
Faith is of God. Wisdom is of Satan.
Faith is what you can believe. Wisdom is what you can understand.
Man shall live not by wisdom but by faith.
The seed of faith is the Word( Jesus Christ — the tree of life).
The seed of wisdom is reasoning (Satan — the tree of the knowledge of good and evil)
Faith works through the Word. Wisdom works through reasoning. The moment you start reasoning with God’s word, you begin to lose faith.
Genesis 3:3-5 “But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die. [4] And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die: [5] For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.”
The Serpent gave her a reason. The moment she accepted reasoning, she lost faith in the Word of God without even knowing. She began to eat off another tree other than the tree of life.
Faith has no reason. Faith just holds on to the Word. Simply believe it. Reasoning moves us subtly away from the Word.
Romans 4:17-22 “(As it is written, I have made thee a father of many nations,) before him whom he believed, even God, who quickeneth the dead, and calleth those things which be not as though they were. [18] Who against hope believed in hope, that he might become the father of many nations; according to that which was spoken, So shall thy seed be. [19] And being not weak in faith, he considered not his own body now dead, when he was about an hundred years old, neither yet the deadness of Sara's womb: [20] He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God; [21] And being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform. [22] And therefore it was imputed to him for righteousness.”
Abraham had no reason to believe this promise. He had millions of reasons not to believe Sarah to be mother of nations. But faith has no reason but believe. Faith cast down all reasoning. Faith cast down all wisdom.
Wisdom tries to make the Word of God say something it didn’t say.
Wisdom reasons God no longer heals or baptizes with the Holy Spirit. There may be millions of reasons, but reason is the very opposite of faith.
Wisdom reason all miracles ceased with the Apostles. There may be lots of wisdom to it but wisdom is the very opposite of faith.
Wisdom began with the devil and it’s always of the devil.

He sold her reason, and she bought it.
Every denomination sells their reason. Faith in the whole Word cuts down all reasoning. If everyone simply believed the Word and not reason it, there will not be any denominations. There will not be any need for a denomination book or version of the Word.
Nobody has been able to show where God said miracles will cease with the Apostles. I have only heard reasons. It’s wisdom bought by many. Like all wisdom, It’s of the devil.
God gave us doctors to heal us but any doctor with common sense should know we can cut you opened but have no ability to heal.
Eve bought wisdom and brought forth death.
Only faith in the whole Word brings forth life. Faith believes the Word has no faults. Zero.

Deuteronomy 2:1-15 “Then we turned, and took our journey into the wilderness by the way of the Red sea, as the LORD spake unto me: and we compassed mount Seir many days. [2] And the LORD spake unto me, saying, [3] Ye have compassed this mountain long enough: turn you northward. [4] And command thou the people, saying, Ye are to pass through the coast of your brethren the children of Esau, which dwell in Seir; and they shall be afraid of you: take ye good heed unto yourselves therefore: [5] Meddle not with them; for I will not give you of their land, no, not so much as a foot breadth; because I have given mount Seir unto Esau for a possession. [6] Ye shall buy meat of them for money, that ye may eat; and ye shall also buy water of them for money, that ye may drink. [7] For the LORD thy God hath blessed thee in all the works of thy hand: he knoweth thy walking through this great wilderness: these forty years the LORD thy God hath been with thee; thou hast lacked nothing. [8] And when we passed by from our brethren the children of Esau, which dwelt in Seir, through the way of the plain from Elath, and from Ezion–gaber, we turned and passed by the way of the wilderness of Moab. [9] And the LORD said unto me, Distress not the Moabites, neither contend with them in battle: for I will not give thee of their land for a possession; because I have given Ar unto the children of Lot for a possession. [10] The Emims dwelt therein in times past, a people great, and many, and tall, as the Anakims; [11] Which also were accounted giants, as the Anakims; but the Moabites call them Emims. [12] The Horims also dwelt in Seir beforetime; but the children of Esau succeeded them, when they had destroyed them from before them, and dwelt in their stead; as Israel did unto the land of his possession, which the LORD gave unto them. [13] Now rise up, said I, and get you over the brook Zered. And we went over the brook Zered. [14] And the space in which we came from Kadesh–barnea, until we were come over the brook Zered, was thirty and eight years; until all the generation of the men of war were wasted out from among the host, as the LORD sware unto them. [15] For indeed the hand of the LORD was against them, to destroy them from among the host, until they were consumed.”
All generation of the wise, reasoning (unbelieving) men of war were destroyed by God. He is the same God yesterday, today, and forever.
1 Corinthians 10:1-5 “Moreover, brethren, I would not that ye should be ignorant, how that all our fathers were under the cloud, and all passed through the sea; [2] And were all baptized unto Moses in the cloud and in the sea; [3] And did all eat the same spiritual meat; [4] And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ. [5] But with many of them God was not well pleased: for they were overthrown in the wilderness.”
The only thing that pleases God is faith.
Hebrews 11:6 “But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.”
Faith is the Wisdom of God. If it’s not faith in the Word, it’s the wisdom of Satan.
We continue our reading:
Deuteronomy 2:16-25 “So it came to pass, when all the men of war were consumed and dead from among the people, [17] That the LORD spake unto me, saying, [18] Thou art to pass over through Ar, the coast of Moab, this day: [19] And when thou comest nigh over against the children of Ammon, distress them not, nor meddle with them: for I will not give thee of the land of the children of Ammon any possession; because I have given it unto the children of Lot for a possession. [20] (That also was accounted a land of giants: giants dwelt therein in old time; and the Ammonites call them Zamzummims; [21] A people great, and many, and tall, as the Anakims; but the LORD destroyed them before them; and they succeeded them, and dwelt in their stead: [22] As he did to the children of Esau, which dwelt in Seir, when he destroyed the Horims from before them; and they succeeded them, and dwelt in their stead even unto this day: [23] And the Avims which dwelt in Hazerim, even unto Azzah, the Caphtorims, which came forth out of Caphtor, destroyed them, and dwelt in their stead.) [24] Rise ye up, take your journey, and pass over the river Arnon: behold, I have given into thine hand Sihon the Amorite, king of Heshbon, and his land: begin to possess it, and contend with him in battle. [25] This day will I begin to put the dread of thee and the fear of thee upon the nations that are under the whole heaven, who shall hear report of thee, and shall tremble, and be in anguish because of thee.”
The Lord caused the dread and fear. Not by anything Israel had done.
The only thing that hinders wisdom is faith. The only thing that hinders reasoning is faith. The only thing that hinders Satan is faith.
Matthew 4:3-4 “And when the tempter came to him, he said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread. [4] But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.”
The showdown between faith and wisdom was on the Cross where faith overcame wisdom.
1 Corinthians 1:17-19 “For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel: not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of none effect. [18] For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God. [19] For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent.”
The only thing that hinders the tree of the knowledge of good and evil is the tree of life.
Satan knew the Word by wisdom. Jesus Christ knew the Word by faith. For He was the Word.
Faith demands you lose all your wisdom to the Word.
We continue our reading:
Deuteronomy 2:26-33 “And I sent messengers out of the wilderness of Kedemoth unto Sihon king of Heshbon with words of peace, saying, [27] Let me pass through thy land: I will go along by the high way, I will neither turn unto the right hand nor to the left. [28] Thou shalt sell me meat for money, that I may eat; and give me water for money, that I may drink: only I will pass through on my feet; [29] (As the children of Esau which dwell in Seir, and the Moabites which dwell in Ar, did unto me;) until I shall pass over Jordan into the land which the LORD our God giveth us. [30] But Sihon king of Heshbon would not let us pass by him: for the LORD thy God hardened his spirit, and made his heart obstinate, that he might deliver him into thy hand, as appeareth this day. [31] And the LORD said unto me, Behold, I have begun to give Sihon and his land before thee: begin to possess, that thou mayest inherit his land. [32] Then Sihon came out against us, he and all his people, to fight at Jahaz. [33] And the LORD our God delivered him before us; and we smote him, and his sons, and all his people.”
The land of Sihon was given to the children of Israel even before they fought for it . It was promised to Abraham. Faith does not know how, but believes the Word, and acts only according to the Word.

Deuteronomy 2:34-37 “And we took all his cities at that time, and utterly destroyed the men, and the women, and the little ones, of every city, we left none to remain: [35] Only the cattle we took for a prey unto ourselves, and the spoil of the cities which we took. [36] From Aroer, which is by the brink of the river of Arnon, and from the city that is by the river, even unto Gilead, there was not one city too strong for us: the LORD our God delivered all unto us: [37] Only unto the land of the children of Ammon thou camest not, nor unto any place of the river Jabbok, nor unto the cities in the mountains, nor unto whatsoever the LORD our God forbad us.”
The Promise was given to Abraham. He believed it. Moses believed it. Joshua and Caleb believed, because they threw away their wisdom and reasoning.
Let the Word of God replace your wisdom and reasoning. BELIEVE, and confess Jesus Christ the Word of God as we’ve revealed Him from the First Adam. Faith stands in the way of wisdom and reasoning, in Christ!
