DEVOTION 152: “Offspring of the True and False Bride” coming out of Num. 35
Jehovah rejected by His bride.
Adam rejected by his bride.
Jesus Christ rejected by His bride.
He came in the image of the First Adam, but before Adam could get to Eve, the Serpent had already deceived her. She had stepped outside the Word of God. She was to be one with Adam (the man in the image of God) in word, but she had been deceived, her mind polluted.
Genesis 3:4-6 “And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die: [5] For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil. [6] And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.”
Then He came through His prophet (Samuel) but was rejected by His bride (Israel).
1 Samuel 8:6-7 “But the thing displeased Samuel, when they said, Give us a king to judge us. And Samuel prayed unto the LORD. [7] And the LORD said unto Samuel, Hearken unto the voice of the people in all that they say unto thee: for they have not rejected thee, but they have rejected me, that I should not reign over them.”
Finally, He came through the Second Adam, and was again rejected by His bride (the false church).
Revelation 3:20 “Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.”
But those who have received Him by the Word, will He come to wed. They will no longer be just brides but wives.
These are those in whom He dwells today in the form of the Holy Spirit, they have their lamps and oil ready.
Matthew 25:1-4 “Then shall the kingdom of heaven be likened unto ten virgins, which took their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom. [2] And five of them were wise, and five were foolish. [3] They that were foolish took their lamps, and took no oil with them: [4] But the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps.”
The true Church is the bride who is ever ready for the Bridegroom. The true Church are men and women who have lined up with the Bridegroom in word (lamp ) and the Holy Spirit (Oil).
They are the Body that fits with the Head (Bridegroom) exactly in word.
Mary was a type of the true bride. She stayed exactly with the Word, when it came to her by the Angel.
Luke 1:38 “And Mary said, Behold the handmaid of the Lord; be it unto me according to thy word. And the angel departed from her.”
And the Word became flesh (life) in her, and bore a Son, Who brought life.
Only life (the Word) can begat life (Jesus Christ).
A false bride can only bring forth death (Cain).
Genesis 4:8-10 “And Cain talked with Abel his brother: and it came to pass, when they were in the field, that Cain rose up against Abel his brother, and slew him. [9] And the LORD said unto Cain, Where is Abel thy brother? And he said, I know not: Am I my brother's keeper? [10] And he said, What hast thou done? the voice of thy brother's blood crieth unto me from the ground.”
A false church can only bring forth death.
The true bride brought forth Life, Who is the Refuge.
Let’s read:
Numbers 35:1-6 “And the LORD spake unto Moses in the plains of Moab by Jordan near Jericho, saying, [2] Command the children of Israel, that they give unto the Levites of the inheritance of their possession cities to dwell in; and ye shall give also unto the Levites suburbs for the cities round about them. [3] And the cities shall they have to dwell in; and the suburbs of them shall be for their cattle, and for their goods, and for all their beasts. [4] And the suburbs of the cities, which ye shall give unto the Levites, shall reach from the wall of the city and outward a thousand cubits round about. [5] And ye shall measure from without the city on the east side two thousand cubits, and on the south side two thousand cubits, and on the west side two thousand cubits, and on the north side two thousand cubits; and the city shall be in the midst: this shall be to them the suburbs of the cities. [6] And among the cities which ye shall give unto the Levites there shall be six cities for refuge, which ye shall appoint for the manslayer, that he may flee thither: and to them ye shall add forty and two cities.”
There is only one Refuge. He is the offspring of the true bride.
Every man slayed, every murder, every death is because of the sin of Eve the false bride.
The only solution for the offspring of the false bride is the Offspring of the true bride.
The Word of God is a seed. If we receive the whole word by faith, and don’t doubt, like Mary, we will always bring forth refuges. We will produce hiding places for the men-slayers to come find life. This is the true church. Men and women not lined up with denomination creeds but with the Word.
If the Pentecostal is right then the Baptist is wrong. If the Lutheran is right then the Catholic is wrong. God will judge the Church by the Word, and not by denomination. The true church are those who stand simply on the Word and not a denomination.
We continue our reading:
Numbers 35:7-15 “So all the cities which ye shall give to the Levites shall be forty and eight cities: them shall ye give with their suburbs. [8] And the cities which ye shall give shall be of the possession of the children of Israel: from them that have many ye shall give many; but from them that have few ye shall give few: every one shall give of his cities unto the Levites according to his inheritance which he inheriteth. [9] And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying, [10] Speak unto the children of Israel, and say unto them, When ye be come over Jordan into the land of Canaan; [11] Then ye shall appoint you cities to be cities of refuge for you; that the slayer may flee thither, which killeth any person at unawares. [12] And they shall be unto you cities for refuge from the avenger; that the manslayer die not, until he stand before the congregation in judgment. [13] And of these cities which ye shall give six cities shall ye have for refuge. [14] Ye shall give three cities on this side Jordan, and three cities shall ye give in the land of Canaan, which shall be cities of refuge. [15] These six cities shall be a refuge, both for the children of Israel, and for the stranger, and for the sojourner among them: that every one that killeth any person unawares may flee thither.”
The Refuge (Jesus Christ) is for the Jew (Israel) and the Gentile (Stranger). In Him is the only place where the Jew and the Gentile becomes one. He bears the same fruit (life) in the Jew and the Gentile. Any other place we run to will bear the wages of sin (death).

Numbers 35:16-33 “And if he smite him with an instrument of iron, so that he die, he is a murderer: the murderer shall surely be put to death. [17] And if he smite him with throwing a stone, wherewith he may die, and he die, he is a murderer: the murderer shall surely be put to death. [18] Or if he smite him with an hand weapon of wood, wherewith he may die, and he die, he is a murderer: the murderer shall surely be put to death. [19] The revenger of blood himself shall slay the murderer: when he meeteth him, he shall slay him. [20] But if he thrust him of hatred, or hurl at him by laying of wait, that he die; [21] Or in enmity smite him with his hand, that he die: he that smote him shall surely be put to death; for he is a murderer: the revenger of blood shall slay the murderer, when he meeteth him. [22] But if he thrust him suddenly without enmity, or have cast upon him any thing without laying of wait, [23] Or with any stone, wherewith a man may die, seeing him not, and cast it upon him, that he die, and was not his enemy, neither sought his harm: [24] Then the congregation shall judge between the slayer and the revenger of blood according to these judgments: [25] And the congregation shall deliver the slayer out of the hand of the revenger of blood, and the congregation shall restore him to the city of his refuge, whither he was fled: and he shall abide in it unto the death of the high priest, which was anointed with the holy oil. [26] But if the slayer shall at any time come without the border of the city of his refuge, whither he was fled; [27] And the revenger of blood find him without the borders of the city of his refuge, and the revenger of blood kill the slayer; he shall not be guilty of blood: [28] Because he should have remained in the city of his refuge until the death of the high priest: but after the death of the high priest the slayer shall return into the land of his possession. [29] So these things shall be for a statute of judgment unto you throughout your generations in all your dwellings. [30] Whoso killeth any person, the murderer shall be put to death by the mouth of witnesses: but one witness shall not testify against any person to cause him to die. [31] Moreover ye shall take no satisfaction for the life of a murderer, which is guilty of death: but he shall be surely put to death. [32] And ye shall take no satisfaction for him that is fled to the city of his refuge, that he should come again to dwell in the land, until the death of the priest. [33] So ye shall not pollute the land wherein ye are: for blood it defileth the land: and the land cannot be cleansed of the blood that is shed therein, but by the blood of him that shed it.”
The cost of life is life. The cost of blood is blood. The cost of offspring is offspring.
The cold blooded murderer had to pay with his or her blood. Jesus Christ, the Refuge, did not just keep the murderer in His estate but took the place of the murderer with His blood. This is God redeeming the offspring of His fallen bride from the very beginning.
Offspring for offsprings.
We conclude our reading:
Numbers 35:34 “Defile not therefore the land which ye shall inhabit, wherein I dwell: for I the LORD dwell among the children of Israel.”
He never left. He walked with them as Jehovah. He lived with them as Jesus Christ. Today, He dwells in us in the form of the Holy Spirit.
His plan of redemption had been the same yesterday, today, and forever.
Let the Word of God bear His life in you. BELIEVE, and confess Christ the Offspring as we’ve revealed Him from the First Adam. The Bridegroom, redeeming the offspring of His fallen bride, in Christ!
