DEVOTION 57: “Identification of Christ in all Generations” coming out of Exo. 7
Christ identified Himself in Noah building an Ark to save eight. He identified Himself in Abraham whose faith made him the father of nations today. He identified Himself in Joseph who was first in Egypt to save his brothers from famine.
Christ identifies Himself in Moses, David, the major and minor prophets.
The Lord promised that in that day, you who will receive the Holy Spirit would know that He is with you, and in you.
John 14:19-20 “Yet a little while, and the world seeth me no more; but ye see me: because I live, ye shall live also. [20] At that day ye shall know that I am in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you.”
The plan of God has not changed. The plan began with God dwelling in the First Adam. God leaving the First Adam to dwell in the Second Adam (Jesus Christ) to ultimately dwell in Believers (those who receive the Second Adam in the Form of the Holy Spirit).
God promises Moses He will become one with him. This is the Same prayer Jesus prayed for the Believers.
John 17:20-21 “Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word; [21] That they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me.”
Oneness with God makes Moses god.
Let’s read:
Exodus 7:1 “And the Lord said unto Moses, See, I have made thee a god to Pharaoh: and Aaron thy brother shall be thy prophet.”
God makes Moses a god to pharaoh. Whatever Moses says it’s just like God speaking because Moses has become one with God. This is the Christ in a Believer.
We become one with God by lining up exactly with His word. By being crucified with Him, and raised up in a newness of Holy life with Him by receiving His Spirit baptism.
1 Corinthians 12:13 “For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.”
This oneness with God makes God the Same in our lives today just as He was in the life of the First Adam before his fall, Abraham, Moses, and ultimately the man-God Jesus Christ.
We continue our reading:
Exodus 7:2-5 “Thou shalt speak all that I command thee: and Aaron thy brother shall speak unto Pharaoh, that he send the children of Israel out of his land. [3] And I will harden Pharaoh's heart, and multiply my signs and my wonders in the land of Egypt. [4] But Pharaoh shall not hearken unto you, that I may lay my hand upon Egypt, and bring forth mine armies, and my people the children of Israel, out of the land of Egypt by great judgments. [5] And the Egyptians shall know that I am the Lord, when I stretch forth mine hand upon Egypt, and bring out the children of Israel from among them.”
Moses was doing the speaking but the truth is it was God speaking to Pharaoh. God and Moses have simply become one.
When we recognize Christ is in us, we have become one with Him, and He will continue to do the same things He did while on earth through us today.
We continue our reading:
Exodus 7:6-17 “And Moses and Aaron did as the Lord commanded them, so did they. [7] And Moses was fourscore years old, and Aaron fourscore and three years old, when they spake unto Pharaoh. [8] And the Lord spake unto Moses and unto Aaron, saying, [9] When Pharaoh shall speak unto you, saying, Shew a miracle for you: then thou shalt say unto Aaron, Take thy rod, and cast it before Pharaoh, and it shall become a serpent. [10] And Moses and Aaron went in unto Pharaoh, and they did so as the Lord had commanded: and Aaron cast down his rod before Pharaoh, and before his servants, and it became a serpent. [11] Then Pharaoh also called the wise men and the sorcerers: now the magicians of Egypt, they also did in like manner with their enchantments. [12] For they cast down every man his rod, and they became serpents: but Aaron's rod swallowed up their rods. [13] And he hardened Pharaoh's heart, that he hearkened not unto them; as the Lord had said. [14] And the Lord said unto Moses, Pharaoh's heart is hardened, he refuseth to let the people go. [15] Get thee unto Pharaoh in the morning; lo, he goeth out unto the water; and thou shalt stand by the river's brink against he come; and the rod which was turned to a serpent shalt thou take in thine hand. [16] And thou shalt say unto him, The Lord God of the Hebrews hath sent me unto thee, saying, Let my people go, that they may serve me in the wilderness: and, behold, hitherto thou wouldest not hear. [17] Thus saith the Lord, In this thou shalt know that I am the Lord : behold, I will smite with the rod that is in mine hand upon the waters which are in the river, and they shall be turned to blood.”
Moses in himself could not do any of these things, but Christ in Moses performed the signs and wonders, just as God had said.
When we are one with Christ in us, we shall do the things exactly as Christ has said.
Mark 16:16-18 “He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. [17] And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; [18] They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.”
This will happen exactly as He has said, if we are one with Him by recognizing He dwells in us by our identification with Him in His life, death, resurrection, ascension, and now dwelling in us in the Form of the Holy Spirit.
We conclude our reading:
Exodus 7:18-25 “And the fish that is in the river shall die, and the river shall stink; and the Egyptians shall lothe to drink of the water of the river. [19] And the Lord spake unto Moses, Say unto Aaron, Take thy rod, and stretch out thine hand upon the waters of Egypt, upon their streams, upon their rivers, and upon their ponds, and upon all their pools of water, that they may become blood; and that there may be blood throughout all the land of Egypt, both in vessels of wood, and in vessels of stone. [20] And Moses and Aaron did so, as the Lord commanded; and he lifted up the rod, and smote the waters that were in the river, in the sight of Pharaoh, and in the sight of his servants; and all the waters that were in the river were turned to blood. [21] And the fish that was in the river died; and the river stank, and the Egyptians could not drink of the water of the river; and there was blood throughout all the land of Egypt. [22] And the magicians of Egypt did so with their enchantments: and Pharaoh's heart was hardened, neither did he hearken unto them; as the Lord had said. [23] And Pharaoh turned and went into his house, neither did he set his heart to this also. [24] And all the Egyptians digged round about the river for water to drink; for they could not drink of the water of the river. [25] And seven days were fulfilled, after that the Lord had smitten the river.”
Let the Word of God bring you into oneness with Christ. Believe and confess Christ the Word as we’ve revealed Him from the First Adam. God never changes, throughout all generations, in Christ!
