“Seeking God Outside Of Christ”

Reference: Job Chapter 10

John 14:8 “Philip saith unto him, Lord, shew us the Father, and it sufficeth us.”

No man finds God outside of Christ.

Hebrews 1:3 “Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high.”

Because the Father is in the Son, we do not find the Father outside the Son.

John 14:9-10 “Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father? [10] Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works.”

The Father has always been in the Son.

Isaiah 9:6 “For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.”

It was the challenge for Phillip who expected the Father to be a different Person from the Son.

It’s a challenge for Job who is looking for the Father outside the Daysman.

Let’s read:

Job 10:1-2 “My soul is weary of my life; I will leave my complaint upon myself; I will speak in the bitterness of my soul. [2] I will say unto God, Do not condemn me; shew me wherefore thou contendest with me.”

God does not condemn or contend with His children. He displays the faith of His children to the world.

Mark 16:15-20 “And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. [16] He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. [17] And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; [18] They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. [19] So then after the Lord had spoken unto them, he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God. [20] And they went forth, and preached every where, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following. Amen.”

God is always displaying the faith of His children to the world. For Job, it was through personal testings and trials. For others, it’s through signs and wonders.

Faith will always reveal the supernatural. And it’s faith alone that reveals the supernatural.

He did it through Job, and does it today through men and women who would believe Him. He is the same God yesterday, today, and forever.

We continue our reading:

Job 10:3-5 “Is it good unto thee that thou shouldest oppress, that thou shouldest despise the work of thine hands, and shine upon the counsel of the wicked? [4] Hast thou eyes of flesh? or seest thou as man seeth? [5] Are thy days as the days of man? are thy years as man's days,”

God cannot be understood outside the Man Christ Jesus. God is in Christ reconciling the world to Himself. He has no beginning. He has no end. He has always been, and always shall be. His fullness is expressed in Christ. Death cannot hold Him. The grave has no grip on Him. He lives in three dimensions as Son, Father, and Holy Spirit.

We continue our reading:

Job 10:6-7 “That thou enquirest after mine iniquity, and searchest after my sin? [7] Thou knowest that I am not wicked; and there is none that can deliver out of thine hand.”

There is One that has delivered man from the curse of God.

He is Job’s Daysman. The One who hanged between two thieves, rejected by earth, rejected by Heaven. Had no place to be born, had no place to be buried. He was Job’s Daysman and our Mediator. Jesus Christ is this Man.

He is the ladder between Heaven and Earth, making peace between God and Man. He causes Heaven and  Earth to kiss. He is God in the Man. The Daysman. He is the Man Christ Jesus.

We continue our reading:

Job 10:8-10 “Thine hands have made me and fashioned me together round about; yet thou dost destroy me. [9] Remember, I beseech thee, that thou hast made me as the clay; and wilt thou bring me into dust again? [10] Hast thou not poured me out as milk, and curdled me like cheese?”

The faith of Job is served to the world just was Christ was served to the world on the Cross.
The Father serves the faith of His children to the world.

By faith Jochobed served Moses to a river.

Exodus 2:3 “And when she could not longer hide him, she took for him an ark of bulrushes, and daubed it with slime and with pitch, and put the child therein; and she laid it in the flags by the river's brink.”

How the Father loves to serve the faith of His children to the world.

He served the faith of Noah, Abraham, Daniel, and the three Hebrew children. The Father looks to serve the faith of His children to the world.

We conclude our reading:

Job 10:11-22 “Thou hast clothed me with skin and flesh, and hast fenced me with bones and sinews. [12] Thou hast granted me life and favour, and thy visitation hath preserved my spirit. [13] And these things hast thou hid in thine heart: I know that this is with thee. [14] If I sin, then thou markest me, and thou wilt not acquit me from mine iniquity. [15] If I be wicked, woe unto me; and if I be righteous, yet will I not lift up my head. I am full of confusion; therefore see thou mine affliction; [16] For it increaseth. Thou huntest me as a fierce lion: and again thou shewest thyself marvellous upon me. [17] Thou renewest thy witnesses against me, and increasest thine indignation upon me; changes and war are against me. [18] Wherefore then hast thou brought me forth out of the womb? Oh that I had given up the ghost, and no eye had seen me! [19] I should have been as though I had not been; I should have been carried from the womb to the grave. [20] Are not my days few? cease then, and let me alone, that I may take comfort a little, [21] Before I go whence I shall not return, even to the land of darkness and the shadow of death; [22] A land of darkness, as darkness itself; and of the shadow of death, without any order, and where the light is as darkness.”

Like Philip, Job is looking for answers from the Father. The answer is the Son, the Daysman, the only Mediator,

Let the Word of God link you to the Mediator. BELIEVE and confess Christ the Word as we’ve revealed Him from the First Adam, He remains the Ladder between Heaven and Earth, in Christ!
