“Mount Moriah, The Place of Sacrifice, The Place Of Blessing”

Reference: 2 Chronicles Chapter 3

Genesis 22:2 “And he said, Take now thy son, thine only son Isaac, whom thou lovest, and get thee into the land of Moriah; and offer him there for a burnt offering upon one of the mountains which I will tell thee of.”

Abraham called Mount Moriah Jehovah Jireh.

Genesis 22:14 “And Abraham called the name of that place Jehovah–jireh: as it is said to this day, In the mount of the LORD it shall be seen.”

It was here that the Promise was made to Abraham about his seed.

Genesis 22:17-18 “That in blessing I will bless thee, and in multiplying I will multiply thy seed as the stars of the heaven, and as the sand which is upon the sea shore; and thy seed shall possess the gate of his enemies; [18] And in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed; because thou hast obeyed my voice.”

David is a biological seed of Abraham, and so is Solomon.

And in Solomon, a seed of Abraham, was all the nations blessed

Let’s read:

2 Chronicles 3:1 “Then Solomon began to build the house of the LORD at Jerusalem in mount Moriah, where the Lord appeared unto David his father, in the place that David had prepared in the threshingfloor of Ornan the Jebusite.”

God will meet man where He has chosen to dwell.

Deuteronomy 12:11,13-14 “Then there shall be a place which the LORD your God shall choose to cause his name to dwell there; thither shall ye bring all that I command you; your burnt offerings, and your sacrifices, your tithes, and the heave offering of your hand, and all your choice vows which ye vow unto the LORD: [13] Take heed to thyself that thou offer not thy burnt offerings in every place that thou seest: [14] But in the place which the LORD shall choose in one of thy tribes, there thou shalt offer thy burnt offerings, and there thou shalt do all that I command thee.”

That place God dwells is in Christ.

God cannot meet man anywhere else, for sinful man cannot stand in the presence of the Holy God. He had to hide in Christ to reconcile men and women to Himself.

2 Corinthians 5:19 “To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.”

God meets man in Christ, and man meets God only in Christ. If one doesn’t know Jesus Christ, they have no concept of God.

You don’t know Jesus Christ by joining a church. You don’t know Jesus Christ by knowing your Bible. You don’t know Jesus Christ by believing Him as a dead person.

You know Jesus Christ by believing and receiving Him as a Living Person, Living Savior, and Living Lord.

You know Jesus Christ by looking at the unseen. You know Jesus Christ by seeing the invisible One.

We conclude our reading:

2 Chronicles 3:2-17 “And he began to build in the second day of the second month, in the fourth year of his reign. [3] Now these are the things wherein Solomon was instructed for the building of the house of God. The length by cubits after the first measure was threescore cubits, and the breadth twenty cubits. [4] And the porch that was in the front of the house, the length of it was according to the breadth of the house, twenty cubits, and the height was an hundred and twenty: and he overlaid it within with pure gold. [5] And the greater house he cieled with fir tree, which he overlaid with fine gold, and set thereon palm trees and chains. [6] And he garnished the house with precious stones for beauty: and the gold was gold of Parvaim. [7] He overlaid also the house, the beams, the posts, and the walls thereof, and the doors thereof, with gold; and graved cherubims on the walls. [8] And he made the most holy house, the length whereof was according to the breadth of the house, twenty cubits, and the breadth thereof twenty cubits: and he overlaid it with fine gold, amounting to six hundred talents. [9] And the weight of the nails was fifty shekels of gold. And he overlaid the upper chambers with gold. [10] And in the most holy house he made two cherubims of image work, and overlaid them with gold. [11] And the wings of the cherubims were twenty cubits long: one wing of the one cherub was five cubits, reaching to the wall of the house: and the other wing was likewise five cubits, reaching to the wing of the other cherub. [12] And one wing of the other cherub was five cubits, reaching to the wall of the house: and the other wing was five cubits also, joining to the wing of the other cherub. [13] The wings of these cherubims spread themselves forth twenty cubits: and they stood on their feet, and their faces were inward. [14] And he made the vail of blue, and purple, and crimson, and fine linen, and wrought cherubims thereon. [15] Also he made before the house two pillars of thirty and five cubits high, and the chapiter that was on the top of each of them was five cubits. [16] And he made chains, as in the oracle, and put them on the heads of the pillars; and made an hundred pomegranates, and put them on the chains. [17] And he reared up the pillars before the temple, one on the right hand, and the other on the left; and called the name of that on the right hand Jachin, and the name of that on the left Boaz.”

It’s by this temple, the dwelling place of God that all the nations were temporary blessed.

But by the Ultimate Temple, Who is Jesus Christ, all the nations are permanently blessed.

Revelation 7:9-12 “After this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands; [10] And cried with a loud voice, saying, Salvation to our God which sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb. [11] And all the angels stood round about the throne, and about the elders and the four beasts, and fell before the throne on their faces, and worshipped God, [12] Saying, Amen: Blessing, and glory, and wisdom, and thanksgiving, and honour, and power, and might, be unto our God for ever and ever. Amen.”

It’s a forever blessing.

Let the Word of God bring you to the Temple of God. BELIEVE and confess Christ the Word as we’ve revealed Him from the First Adam. He lives today, in Christ!
