“Loving What God Loves, And Hating What God Hates”

Reference: 2 Chronicles Chapter 19

In oneness with God, we love what He Loves and hates what He hates.

When we find ourselves loving what God hates and hating what He Loves, we have separated from Him.

Consecration is when we love what God Loves, and hates what He hates.

Jehoshaphat went contrary to the way of God in alliance with Ahab. God by His Mercy sent him a word through the prophet to turn him back to the way of God.

Let’s read:

2 Chronicles 19:1-2 “And Jehoshaphat the king of Judah returned to his house in peace to Jerusalem. [2] And Jehu the son of Hanani the seer went out to meet him, and said to king Jehoshaphat, Shouldest thou help the ungodly, and love them that hate the LORD? therefore is wrath upon thee from before the LORD.”

God always send a warning before His wrath.

At the time of Noah, the people were warned. Sodom and Gomorrah were warned. Egypt was warned many times before the plagues. Israel was warned before the Babylonian captivity. We are warned today before the return of Jesus Christ.

The wrath of God never comes without a warning.

Matthew 12:38-41 “Then certain of the scribes and of the Pharisees answered, saying, Master, we would see a sign from thee. [39] But he answered and said unto them, An evil and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given to it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas: [40] For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale's belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of the earth. [41] The men of Nineveh shall rise in judgment with this generation, and shall condemn it: because they repented at the preaching of Jonas; and, behold, a greater than Jonas is here.”

The Sign (warning) is given. The Sign of the death, burial, and resurrected of Jesus Christ. The Sign is Jesus Christ and Him crucified. If any man or woman refuses, ignored or rejects this Love of God, there is nothing left but the wrath of God.

In my own life, I have seen the life of people spiral downward after taken the time to present them the gospel.  They were coasting at the time of the warning. . Once God reaches us with the true gospel, and its ignored, refused, or rejected, we are exposed to His wrath.

We conclude our reading:

2 Chronicles 19:3-11 “Nevertheless there are good things found in thee, in that thou hast taken away the groves out of the land, and hast prepared thine heart to seek God. [4] And Jehoshaphat dwelt at Jerusalem: and he went out again through the people from Beer–sheba to mount Ephraim, and brought them back unto the LORD God of their fathers. [5] And he set judges in the land throughout all the fenced cities of Judah, city by city, [6] And said to the judges, Take heed what ye do: for ye judge not for man, but for the LORD, who is with you in the judgment. [7] Wherefore now let the fear of the LORD be upon you; take heed and do it: for there is no iniquity with the LORD our God, nor respect of persons, nor taking of gifts. [8] Moreover in Jerusalem did Jehoshaphat set of the Levites, and of the priests, and of the chief of the fathers of Israel, for the judgment of the LORD, and for controversies, when they returned to Jerusalem. [9] And he charged them, saying, Thus shall ye do in the fear of the LORD, faithfully, and with a perfect heart. [10] And what cause soever shall come to you of your brethren that dwell in their cities, between blood and blood, between law and commandment, statutes and judgments, ye shall even warn them that they trespass not against the LORD, and so wrath come upon you, and upon your brethren: this do, and ye shall not trespass. [11] And, behold, Amariah the chief priest is over you in all matters of the LORD; and Zebadiah the son of Ishmael, the ruler of the house of Judah, for all the king's matters: also the Levites shall be officers before you. Deal courageously, and the LORD shall be with the good.”

Jehoshaphat received the warning, and quickly turned to the way of God.

Today, He stands knocking at the door of our hearts.

Revelation 3:19-21 “As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent. [20] Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me. [21] To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne.”

We overcome by going His way of the Cross. He has paid the ultimate price for our souls. We simply have to believe and receive it. By this we escape the wrath of God.

Let the Word of God keep us from the wrath of God. BELIEVE and confess Christ the Word as we’ve revealed Him from the First Adam. He is not willing that any should perish, by giving a clear Sign, in Christ!
