“They’ve Rejected God. They’ve Rejected Jesus Christ. They’ve Rejected the Holy Spirit.”

Reference: 1 Samuel Chapter 8

As God the Father, He was rejected for an earthly king. As Jesus Christ, He was rejected for Barabbas. As the God the Holy Spirit, He is rejected for Cardinals, Bishops, Priests, superintendents, Theologians, and Popes.

The same rejection has plagued man all through the centuries even till this day. He is the same yesterday, today, and forever.

God warns through the Prophet Samuel.

Let’s read:

1 Samuel 8:1-7 “And it came to pass, when Samuel was old, that he made his sons judges over Israel. [2] Now the name of his firstborn was Joel; and the name of his second, Abiah: they were judges in Beer-sheba. [3] And his sons walked not in his ways, but turned aside after lucre, and took bribes, and perverted judgment. [4] Then all the elders of Israel gathered themselves together, and came to Samuel unto Ramah, [5] And said unto him, Behold, thou art old, and thy sons walk not in thy ways: now make us a king to judge us like all the nations. [6] But the thing displeased Samuel, when they said, Give us a king to judge us. And Samuel prayed unto the Lord. [7] And the Lord said unto Samuel, Hearken unto the voice of the people in all that they say unto thee: for they have not rejected thee, but they have rejected me, that I should not reign over them.”

God is rejected when we reject His Word. Jesus Christ is the rejected Word of God.

Matthew 27:11-12,17-18,21-22 “And Jesus stood before the governor: and the governor asked him, saying, Art thou the King of the Jews? And Jesus said unto him, Thou sayest. [12] And when he was accused of the chief priests and elders, he answered nothing. [17] Therefore when they were gathered together, Pilate said unto them, Whom will ye that I release unto you? Barabbas, or Jesus which is called Christ? [18] For he knew that for envy they had delivered him. [21] The governor answered and said unto them, Whether of the twain will ye that I release unto you? They said, Barabbas. [22] Pilate saith unto them, What shall I do then with Jesus which is called Christ? They all say unto him, Let him be crucified.”

Light was rejected for darkness.

When we say Divine healing is in the past, we are simply rejecting the Word of God. We are rejecting light for darkness. For He’s the same yesterday, today, and forevermore.
When we say He no longer baptizes with the Holy Spirit, we are simply rejecting the Word of God. We are rejecting light for darkness.

They chose a man over the Word of God. If they only knew what they were rejecting.
And if we only know what we are rejecting.

Revelation 3:17-22 “Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked: [18] I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see. [19] As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent. [20] Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.”

God wants to come to every room in our heart.  Not just one room but all the rooms. He wants to be our King, our Savior and our LORD.

He wants to save us, reign in us, and lead us by His Spirit.

God created man to reign in his heart by His Word. To make provision for him by His Word, and to lead Him by His Spirit. When we reject one, we reject all of God, for God is One. We stay wretched and naked without even knowing.

We continue our reading:

1 Samuel 8:8-17 “According to all the works which they have done since the day that I brought them up out of Egypt even unto this day, wherewith they have forsaken me, and served other gods, so do they also unto thee. [9] Now therefore hearken unto their voice: howbeit yet protest solemnly unto them, and shew them the manner of the king that shall reign over them. [10] And Samuel told all the words of the Lord unto the people that asked of him a king. [11] And he said, This will be the manner of the king that shall reign over you: He will take your sons, and appoint them for himself, for his chariots, and to be his horsemen; and some shall run before his chariots. [12] And he will appoint him captains over thousands, and captains over fifties; and will set them to ear his ground, and to reap his harvest, and to make his instruments of war, and instruments of his chariots. [13] And he will take your daughters to be confectionaries, and to be cooks, and to be bakers. [14] And he will take your fields, and your vineyards, and your oliveyards, even the best of them, and give them to his servants. [15] And he will take the tenth of your seed, and of your vineyards, and give to his officers, and to his servants. [16] And he will take your menservants, and your maidservants, and your goodliest young men, and your asses, and put them to his work. [17] He will take the tenth of your sheep: and ye shall be his servants.”

It’s only the Word of God (light)  that GIVES. The word of man (darkness) has nothing to give. The word of man simply TAKES from you.

We conclude our reading:

1 Samuel 8:18-22 “And ye shall cry out in that day because of your king which ye shall have chosen you; and the Lord will not hear you in that day. [19] Nevertheless the people refused to obey the voice of Samuel; and they said, Nay; but we will have a king over us; [20] That we also may be like all the nations; and that our king may judge us, and go out before us, and fight our battles. [21] And Samuel heard all the words of the people, and he rehearsed them in the ears of the Lord. [22] And the Lord said to Samuel, Hearken unto their voice, and make them a king. And Samuel said unto the men of Israel, Go ye every man unto his city.”

When we reject the Word or Spirit of God, He allows us to enslave ourselves in darkness. And so did Israel in the Promised Land, the world at the time of Christ, and the Church today.

Whether rejected as God, Jesus Christ, or the Holy Spirit, it’s the same rejection. The result is darkness.

Let the Word of God guide you out of darkness. BELIEVE and confess Christ the Word as we’ve revealed Him from the First Adam. He has been rejected by prostitutes, thieves, murderers, religious men, and women. Yet He keeps knocking, even to this day. Only Amazing Grace, in Christ!
